The reason 'Shine' never got a win? Because people only loved the song, not Pentagon as a group. You see the many comments saying "I'm not a fan but..."? that's exactly the reason why. People loved the song and everyone danced to it so Pentagon was able to promote for 6 weeks, but nobody voted for them.
People still continue to listen to 'Shine' which i *love* since it's so iconic, but 80% of the views are from people that don't know any other members besides Edawn and any other songs besides 'Shine'. Mystery solved. Please support Pentagon from now on.

I wasn’t expecting to see you so blunt and even worried about your future because I’d always known Pentagon as such an upbeat and peppy group. It turns out, I didn’t know the reality of the situation that you were all were living on and I didn’t know of the struggles that you’ve faced. The way in which you were answering the questions had me completely re-thinking what I thought about you before. You were so honest and real about the worries and concerns that you had about your position as an idol in Pentagon that I had no idea about prior to this year. I instantly felt this maturity and desperation for success that represented your character just from this one interview alone. Just from this, I respected you so much more. I had this new love and appreciation for you and all that you work for, not only as an idol but as Yuto. When I watched you afterwards, I read all of your performances differently and could really understand what performing actually means to you. You have, without a doubt, one of the most versatile voices I’ve known just from this element of your voice alone. I had never heard this song before seeing a member crying because they haven’t been recognized by awards or music show wins. From what I’ve seen, this makes no sense. Pentagon is delightful! 5 years ago when this song first came out, I remember it being downloaded on youtube. I was in a hospital bed, I had a fracture on my right leg and an ankle dislocation. This was the ONLY thing in my downloads folder on youtube, and my hospital hardly had any wifi. So I kept it on loop. My dad was with me, visiting me from malaysia and got me a bunch of different plushies. My mom was with me, actively taling care of me for once.
Im here now, 2024 on a sunday, my mom sold off my plushies (or just wont tell me where they are), my dad passed away and I never got to live with him and go with him. I'm listening to this song on loop again, trying to cope with everything thats happened through the years. I try desperately everyday just to feel something, and coming back here I realize how these things I thoight were so little like the music I listened to, helped me so much through everything I went through. I dont even listen to kpop anymore, I'm literally hardcore alternative music and a metalhead, and yet just listeninf to this song makes me cry harder than any of those songs have. Thank you, Pentagon.
