Hwasa is such a breath of fresh air compared to many other Kpop female singers. She's so talented, so real, and so original. Personally, I think the message of this song works for both sides of a toxic relationship. The person who puts their lover on a pedestal and adores them to the point of not having a world of their own, and the one who takes the love and care of their lover for granted: both are twits. One side does not love themselves enough, so their love becomes obsessive and pressuring for the other party. Meanwhile, the other party fails to appreciate their lover enough. They fail to give back the love and care necessary. Both situations make a relationship toxic and one-sided. I like that Hwasa chooses to show that both behaviour ends up 'killing' the love that these people were looking for. Instead of showing a fairytale-like, 'perfect' love story, she shows one that comes undone, shows the reasons this happens, and leaves us to ponder about these issues ourselves. She leaves us with a warning, and an important one at that: Don't be either of these 2 twits, otherwise, both of you will suffer.
There are some really good comments about the symbolism of the lyrics and the mv here, and I wish there were more of them. Sure, Hwasa boldly sets herself to be her own standard of beauty, but there's more to her than that. Both as an artist, and as a person, she's deeper than that

You don't have to understand it because it is a cultural difference, which is confusing for foreigners. Just accept that that's the way it is, and respect it. There's no reason for you to trivialize another country's culture because it doesn't align with what you think is beautiful.

I sometimes want to cry because I am so proud of mamamoo as a whole (solar is my bias if anyone’s interested) and it’s so nice to see hwasa slaying the music industry with such a fresh new sounding song. Recently I’ve had a little worry for hwasa due to mean comments but she snaps back with these amazing visuals and her talent, I love this woman, I am surprised this was the song but it’s well above my expectations this is my fave solo debut of all time and she really slayed in my opinion, I also think it’s so original and fresh, tbh this and clcs show are my fave songs of 2019 so far💓

It is a character in a famous Korean story who sacrifices themselves out of love. In the song Hwasa doesn’t like the fact that this person is revolving their whole life around her and sacrificing themselves for her. She calls them a fool for it. She also feels bad about it. But it’s not something she wants. It’s a really interesting and complex song
