Man, I've been looking for this version for years! My best mate had it on a cassette compilation years ago but it was wrongly listed as being Fleetwood Mac! Anyway, my friend died a few years ago in a car crash and this is the first time I've heard this song since, a tear in my eye but so happy to have found this moment of musical joy again. This one's for you Cormac Duffy!
what a story- thanks for sharing.
Jesus Christ where the hell did this come from?? This is awesome!!
Great !!!!!!!!! I l love this Song ! Since i was 14 YEARS OLD !
Awesome version which I discovered recently thanks to Spotify. Alexis was a constant through my youth, appearing regularly on tv, the radio and of course on record, as a solo act and as part of CCS and various other combos. Very Sadly missed.
Alexis never failed to deliver.
Definite coolness! (you can definitely make out Frampton, Marriott and Richards' lead guitars and the backing vocals of Richards and Marriott.
what a great version
Great find..my thanks..
and he sings beautifully here....Korner sounds like what my daughter would characterize as 'a creeper'...lol-
my favorite version-
great
Probably the best cover of a Stones song!
first time I hear this... great version of a great song. sorry to hear about your friend... not too religious myself I believe we all will meet again someday somewhere in this mighty universe where time doesnt matter anymore... all the best from a german that once has been a guest to your country... real hospitable folks both north an south.. take care
Wow, what a really different take on a rock classic. Kinda cool.
Nice tuneful version.
this has such a great sound! wow
Phew what a line-up.Saw this guy at the Toby Jug in Tolwort aeons ago
Nope, definitely Alexis doing the spoken word, his trademark gravel for real sure.
Thanx for the upload.
He started off like Vincent Price .
this is so awesome
No the `spoken singing` starting at around 1:38 is the late Alexis Korner. Keith was on backing vocals + guitar
@rockon18 and that solo doesnt sound like keith either
So good!....So verrrry.....:-)
Steve Marriott is definitely on back-up vocals, as well. You just have to compare it to the version of Korner & Marriott singing this to hear it. That video should be listed to the right.
I knew Alexis in the 60s as a kid when he was living in the wilds of mid Wales- i sensed he and his hippy looking son were not the same as the others in my little town.
A psychedelic atmosphere. Nice
two ' unknowns' ~ still a great line up !
Esta buena canción la compuso THE ROLLING STONES y la cantaron en el año 1965 y la versionaron ALEXIS KORNER y fue publicado en el año 1975
Alexis Korner covering/reinventing the rolling stones that's reeally rich hey u r keep the circle unbroken (first time I heard Mr. K)xlnt!
Still relevant
I remember years ago that Alexis sang songs which seemed to me at the time to be psychological/political songs. I recently met someone who used to play in his band. I mentioned this to him - he did not seem to recognise that. Do you recognise that some of the sings sounded like that?
This version is better than our original. Keith Richards.
Keith Richard said this was how they should have done it.
continnuing in doom and gloom official stonde promotion video chekc it with swedish actress and director
sorry friend, but this very clearly is AK himslef doing the vocals... regards from europe
Is England part of Europe? A Divided Kingdom and England wants all the benefits of being part of Europe but doesn't want to pay the price just like the U.S.A., so they privilege themselves over other nations and take away the freedom of people to work overseas. Or is the European Union at fault bailing out Italy while they drive around in Mazzoritis, fuck whores, and rip off hard working people in other countries and then complain?
Hey, you, Keith, where’s the smack?

better than the stones
Alexia korner did a Keith Richards impression I not a rolling stones fan I would rather hear the original version than this novelty takes on the sixties song.
This version is far more better, juicy blues.
"and then SHE says..."It's 3 am in the morning"...definitely "Kentucky Fried" Richards there, Steve Marriott would never be a "she" - LOL!
