Ouch. The layered shapeless look. We’ve all been there
I have a simple rule - only one loose or shapeless piece allowed at a time. If the top or sweater is oversized or chunky, wear leggings or slim pants to balance.
If the pants are loose and flowey, the blouse or sweater should be more close fitting. Easy peasy, as they say🌼🌸🌺💐Happy Easter

All great tips, except wearing pointy toed shoes… At my age, 68, I have destroyed my feet by shoving them into shoes that are inappropriate for healthy feet. We continue to tell women that spiky heels and pointy toes are sexy. Sexy is not what’s on your feet, sexy is an attitude. ❤

    • @princesslehaha
      @princesslehaha 4 일 전 +4

Oh I just did a rant about that up there. If anything, pointy toes will kill your feet, and yeah I did that thing in the 70's and 80's. Now I wear shoes that are shaped like my feet. My feet love me.
Pointy toed shoes also age people. Because they belong in the 80's.

There's no looking pretty in pain. There's no fun to be had when in pain. I look hard for shoes that look and feel good then buy them in every color. These gems are very hard to find. Flats do not work for me or anything binding through the toes. High arches are and issue and flats provide no support for arches that desperately need support. Shoes... this is a good topic but can be a difficult one regardless of age.

Unfortunately, I cannot agree...🙈 Although the orange really does freshen up the look, scarves like this are not something that younger women would wear. This is actually an older lady look. So if I want color close to the face, you just shouldn't choose a plain white shirt. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I 100% tuck in all my tops, or wear “cropped”, waist-length ones. I turned 64 today, so, yes, my tummy is a bit rounder than in my youth, but the advantage of improved visual proprietor far outweighs that. I also still wear “mini skirts”, but as a petite, they are longer on me, a few inches above the knee. I have thickened a bit around the middle, but am still slim and I like to show my shape and my legs. But, I also love midi skirts. Those long maxis are cute, but not very practical, I’ve found. I don’t want any more of them, especially the fuller styles, they can be a nuisance, if not downright dangerous, to wear. Thanks, Deirdre❤

I agree with all you said except wearing too much black depresses me. I will combine it with color! I wear knee length skirts (or skorts in case I fall and then it looks like shorts underneath). I like "roomy" form fitting tops , not too blousy and not too tight. Thanks for re-enforcing my view that I am not too old to dress this way. BTW, I am 70.

I very much enjoy your videos as my style is like yours and agree with all the points you raised. I am 5 ft, size 8. I have avoided the oversized look as i look swamped in fabric and if i tuck an oversized shirt in trousers I end up with a bulky middle. My trousers are all slim or straight as wide leg just do not suit me. I have a bust so good, supportive bras are a must. I have learned over the years what suits my height and shape and am in heaven with the variety of kitten heeled slingbacks available at the moment. Hope you feel better soon.

When someone commented that "you're really old now" (didn't wish me happy b'day even and it was my 81st). I quickly educated the person that old is a matter of the mind... if you don't mind then it doesn't matter... and that I don't subscribe to "old", vintage is so much nicer! So happy to find your channel and appreciate the education. I especially love your natural look, you're beautiful. I've already looked up your links to lip color and concealer, both desperately needed for self. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to more help that's beyond needed for self. Be safe and blessed.

It's very hard to forsake the black clothes around here (with 5 months of winter, at least), they are still the most flattering for the mid-section as well. In the summer it's easier to mix in whites, light blues, etc. but I still have to be very careful of that area.😏

This is the first of your videos that I have seen. I saw most of my clothing, and have done most of my life. I am an extreme hourglass, petite woman. I have battled weight issues all my life. But I have stabilized for several years at a good weight. I have always known that the Luz trophy stuff doesn’t look good on me. I never color block And I do look for simple. Well fitted designs. But you will not catch me in a sweet little floral print they make me sick. An independent strong woman doesn’t wear sweet little florals. I do on occasion make bold florals, and I know it’s going to be a one season dress, but I made it. I can then later, cut it up into something else, I always roll up the sleeves on my shirts and I always unbutton them a couple buttons and it does make such a sophisticated, sexy understated look. So I appreciate almost everything you said, and I do have more “comfortable“ shoes, when especially when people are wearing dresses, if you’re attending an occasion where you’re wearing a dress bite the bullet, and put a more delicate shoe on your foot! Thank you I look forward to more videos.

SO many great points! The late Jean Muir stood by wearing Navy instead of black for women of a certain age - and I totally agree! I still wear some black, but whenever I can, choose Navy! It’s so much softer near the face, and at least for me, extremely flattering. 🙋‍♀️🇺🇸🥰‼️

Your "Style Expression" determines what size Jewelry, Prints, etc. look best on you...just as wearing the correct colors do. I NEED larger, bolder jewelry and people have even mentioned larger pieces don't look large on me. When I try to "get current" by wearing smaller, it isn't good!

She's mistaken, anyway. According to Who What Wear, " Low-Key Over: Delicate Stacking Necklaces
      Buying Into: Bold Collars"
so dainty is passe and bold is in.

I'm 66 and a cool winter. Black is my basic and because of my very fair skin and green eyes, it is actually quite striking on me. It is also 90% of my wardrobe. What I do to brighten it up when desired is throw a scarf on in my colors, and it instantly lifts the look. I am a size 4, so I can wear anything, though I stick with a modest look as I believe it to be more elegant. Nothing more elegant than pearls and black....It's the staple of my look. I also mix silver and light gold...Yes, I wear Chanel : ) Subbed.

I say forget what’s trending. I subscribe to the Kibbe body type model as a starting point. Some people absolutely rock statement necklaces while others are drowned in it. Dress for your body, not for what fashion says is trending. Just keep it event appropriate. Don’t glam up to go to the grocery store.
