Was in the store today and Deion was the topic of conversation this lady was trying to convince me well these two other gentleman’s about it’s good Colorado winning but she just tired of Prime behavior and me and the lady locked eyes I smiled and said No, what behavior are you speaking of? She couldn’t answer the question. He teaches life lessons as he benched his own kid before in a championship game and pulled a former NFL player kid from the game this past weekend because he missed a FG and replaced him. Correction often gets viewed as discipline and that’s notorious wrong.

He comes off kind of arrogant though.
He is asked, "Who is the best coach?"
Then he asks if they have a mirror. It's pretty cringe.

Deion Sanders did not abandon the mission of Jackson State. He achieved his mission at Jackson State. He made them relevant, he brought attention to historical black colleges and universities, he raised tens of millions of dollars to assist at that school, and took them two consecutive national championship games. Mission Accomplished

I don’t hate him for doing what’s best for himself. Coaches do it all the time. Urban’s Meyer…Lane Kiffin…etc.

I think it’s reasonable to believe that there were some underhanded dealings with Jackson State finances and Prime is too good of a man to open that can of worms. This country was built on people that did great things and wanted to help America, not people who try to question moves. This man is the type of human being that makes the world a better place. If black men, all men, molded the way they tackle situations and look at problems like Coach Prime does, the world would be a much better place.

People need to realize, coaching isn't something that Deion needs to do.. He's choosing to be a leader to these impressionable young men and I imagine many of them will be so much better for it.. I'm here in Boulder County Colorado and the energy he's brought to this community is like nothing else I have ever seen!

I live in Boulder. Following a devastating urban wildfire and a grocery store shooting, the Boulder community really took some hits and lost some neighbors the last couple of years. The energy he has brought not just to the school but to the town of Boulder has been incredible. He's changing the vibe of everything. One man is doing all this. It's incredible.

Deion Sanders is a beautiful man. I first became a fan when he came to my hometown to play for the Cincinnati Reds. I had always known how smart he was but here he joined and became a real teammate. I have followed him since through his made up media contrrovoseries, where I was on Deion's side, through his hilarious bumble bee commercials, through his stints as a commentator, and then as a coach. This man is breath of fresh air!!! Love you Deion!

His greatest skill is that he can motivate and inspire people to perform 10x beyond their actual ability. Colorado is very lucky to have him and I hope he stays. He's only played three games here as coach so far, but he's already made history in just that very short period of time. Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, TCU, Oregon...all but forgotten in the minds of every young player coming up through the ranks. Now, every single high school star in the country dreams of being a Buff and playing for Coach Prime. He's already made his mark here - and Boulder will never be the same!

He’s bringing the world together for a great cause, this is bigger than a 3-0 run. He’s literally a shining light! This what happens when you walk in your calling! So excited to see what’s next! The fact that people revile Deion just shows how much evil is still in the world. Like people just don’t like certain people succeeding in this country still. It’s a shame. It’s way more fun rooting for him. The dude is an A+ human being and probably one of the most talented people in the history of sports. Dude killed it as a player and now we all are seeing, what a lot of us already knew…that he’s a genius.

  • Flag Coco
    Flag Coco 3 일 전 +1

I swear, watching Prime in this decade is a whole lot like watching Muhammad Ali in the late 1960s. I'm serious on this.
Yes, they both would talk your ears off if you let them. They're both gregarious, articulate, entertaining, with just enough substance behind their style that makes them both that rarity of sports mouths: glib. They create all the energy when they come into their field of battle, whether it's the boxing ring or a 60,000-seat stadium. Nothing is held back. There is no apparatus that slows the thought down on its way to the mouth.
And yes, if you want to call it trash talk, they both could back it up. Two of the greatest athletes of the 20th Century. Ali was always a cultural touchstone as a young black man running his mouth in an era where young black men could get lynched for the same thing, but Deion is becoming the same kind of icon, the kind of man where everyone wants to listen to what he has to say. Deion has lived THE football life, there are few men ever who have been so successful their entire lives on the gridiron, and right now his coaching and his verbage are taking over for what his body used to do. Just as Ali ran through the heavyweight division and redefined what it is to be a boxer, Prime is doing the same thing with coaching football.
And the last thing you ever want to do with either Ali or Deion is give them bulletin board material. Don't say even the littlest thing to get them going on making it personal. Just as Prime ran with it when Jay Norvell talked about hats and glasses, Ali took personal slights as inspiration to wage all-out war. How many fighters continued to call him Clay, how many had Ali shouting at them throughout the fight SAY MY NAME as he brutalized and humiliated them?
We love both Ali and Deion, but we also know Ali was hated by a lot of White America. Deion feeds into this, you've seen it in his interviews, playing up the fact that he annoys the football establishment simply by being a brash, successful black man in a profession where we're still talking about the need for more blacks. Prime has always rubbed more conservative people the wrong way, just as Ali did.
Just as Jack Johnson did a hundred years ago.
Just as Jim Brown and Bill Russell did when they balanced their sports careers with their activism.
Throw in Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and pretty much any black man who did not cater to the insecurities of White America.
To a lesser extent, maybe LeBron James, Colin Kaepernick, and any athlete told to "shut up and dribble" would be part of this fraternity.
Whatever Johnson, Ali, and Brown were in their day, Deion is that for this generation.
