He's so amazing that I get bored watching other teams because they play so bland / miss so many things that can make them better (I've been watching him his whole career so I've kind of started to see passes he likes to make and advantages he likes to press). It's to the point where I'm probably going to stop watching the NBA when he retires honestly.

Let's be honest; Jokic has NOT had to put up with anywhere near the same kind of stuff that other MVP level players have in recent years. No one gives him a hard time for not having a ring. No one comes at him for not having a "clutch gene" or any of that other nonsense. The media is happy to hand this guy MVP awards while NOT putting any pressure on him. By the time Lebron was 25, he was already hearing, "where's the ring?" and, "the ring-less king" and, "prince James" and all the other BS. Kevin Durant had to hear all that noise too and still does even though he has 2 rings! They even started in on Giannis before he won that title; talking about how he has to leave Milwaukee and how he has to be able to shoot threes. With Jokic, they just leave him alone...

I was fortunate enough to get to watch MJ as a teen. I am now in my 40s and my eyes dont lie. I am getting to watch a level of greatness I thought I would never get to see again. I hope they put the peices around him. He needs a scottie and kerr.
Decision making is the lost art of basketball ever since Jordan changed the league. Jokic brought that back and he also showed us that big men have a huge advantage when it comes to court vision that the basketball zeitgeist never tapped into. He deserves credit for that.
Every single one of his critics just never understood the dimensionality of basketball. I'm sure every single current/former player who passes on him would change their mind if they played with him.

@@MrAaronchicago Preface: Lebron is an all time great, no one here is doubting that. Also are only players great if they are better than Lebron? This is what I alluded to as the dimensionality of basketball, there are many ways to be great at this sport.
The King's athleticism eclipses a lot of his other qualities including decision making. Which makes sense, why would you develop a skill when you don't need it. And the stats support this. Lebron highest PER is similar to Jokic's current and MVP seasons but Jokic has much lower usage.
No teammate of Lebron improved across the board in terms of efficiency and win shares with maybe slightly lower output like AG. Jeff Green has been feasting on this Nuggets team but he simply didn't with the King.
This video accurately describes the tension that the defense has on every play when Jokic is running the offense. It is purely decision making, Jokic and the nuggets are just always ready with the counter to your move.

He does not dunk and shoot all the time, neither he blocks (jumps high); hence he "does not pass the eye test". He does not make poses after basket. He's just killing you softly in the most effective, unassuming way. Gregg Popovich said it the best "... and he doesn't look like he is doing anything".
Americans are not used to that type of game, but they will get there, as we already see shy attempts. If we one day say he "changed the way of the game", that means he is one of a few: MJ (for me, the best, by far), Curry (the most recent) and some others in the more distant past. THAT is the achievement!

After watching this vid I got more respect for Jokic and I can confidently say he is going to be my MVP
One of the other biggest things to consider in the Nuggets debate as a whole is that Jokic has never had another superstar to play with. If you put a guy like Jrue Holiday or James Harden on the Nuggets, chances are they would be unstoppable. For the MVP, Embiid and Giannis have *significantly* better teams, and Giannis doesn't even have the highest on/off on his team (it's Holiday to my knowledge). To push their narrative, they devalue assists in favor of points. It's kind of crazy to see man. Thanks for making this video.

Great video. Perhaps the best one you made about my namesake, and one of the world's best basketball players, period, Nikola. People who are truly into basketball, understand it, from the perspective of someone who played/coached basketball, should enjoy him play, because he is a virtuoso. He's a special one. There are players who have a similar skill-set to him (Sabonis and Sengun of the ones active in NBA), but none of them quite like him. Enjoy him. Acknowledge him. Appreciate what he does for the sport. Know that you're witnessing greatness which may never be replicated again.

And he is making damn sure they all get tons of looks throughout the regular season. Bird is the only other player I saw that could consistently beat guys with his mind in spite of physical limitations. They turned the perception of “slow and white” into an asset. Jokic is feared because guys know he’s gonna do something smart. They just don’t know when and where.

Best Video I have seen explaining how and why Jokic is perhaps the most dominant player of his generation. Wow! Most folks just don’t have the capacity to understand exactly how good he is and what he is doing to win and control games like no other. And…He’s 6th overall in deflections and tied w Bam for 1st in total steals for centers, along w averaging more defensive rebounds than anybody besides Giannis, and second overall in rebounding just ahead of Giannis…But he can’t play defense…The narrative around Jokic not being a good defender is just lazy and ignorant if I’m bein honest. Thank you so much for this video and comprehensive analysis on why Jockic is so phenomenal. What Jokic is doing this year is so incredibly that I don’t think another player could replicate it. He adds so much to the Denver Nuggets winning and yet he doesn’t need the ball in his hands all the time to do it. He has broken the mold of how to be a superstar player and I think fans can’t fully accept that. I don’t want to diminish what Joel and Giannis have done because they are historic in their own right but the media’s insistence on ridiculing a top 5 player in today’s game is just incredibly toxic and frankly is really only something I have seen happen to a couple other players: Westbrook, LeBron, and Kobe. I’m glad I can say though I have been able to watch and be a fan of this man for several years. The moment I saw him dismantle my Spurs in his first playoff series I knew this man was going to be special and he’s only gotten better and better.

That game against New Orleans last year was incredible. He had 30 points in the 4th quarter and OT on 100% shooting and the only buckets he didnt score or assist on were two AG FTs if I remember correctly. It was probably the best performance I'd seen since Giannis's 50 piece to close out the Suns.

So in summary; Jokic makes his teammates better. That is what people don't realize. It's not all personal scoring stats that indicate how valuable a player is, it is the overall effect he has on the other players on his team.

The most compelling part of his game is his incredible touch, combined with relentless footwork from the pivot when big defenders square him up at the rim. His ability to finish incredibly contested shots is astounding. And to do it without any quickness or vertical jumping advantage is mind boggling. Jokic is breaking established NBA paradigms and some are uncomfortable about it.

As 5’10 240 intramural player I’ve loved watching Jokic since he really started balling in 2019 I’ve learned so much about the game from watching him and incorporated his unorthodox post moves into my game. He’s the best player I’ve ever seen and I’ve gone out of my way twice to see him live. Other than Timmy he’s my favorite player ever
