I love the questions they ask. They're so genuine and I love how we understand them. That's why I prefer press conferences over regular interviews cause they're the actual fans who have been following them and get the idea Tyler and Josh are putting out there.

I transcribed the last answer (it's at 23:07 - don't read if you haven't watched): -- Well, there's something that comes before being in the right headspace and you have to make sure that you're prepared to manage whatever inspiration comes your way. So, before inspiration strikes you have to work hard. You have to make sure that when you're doing writing exercises or when you're forcing yourself to work on a certain production element, or get better at an instrument, or... There's a lot of things that aren't necessarily fueled by inspiration that you have to work on, so that you have the skill when it happens. So, a lot of times... I always talk about... song writing is kind of like being a muscle, that you have to work out, that you have to get stronger, have to tear down and build back up. And, so it's not... I'm not walking around all day long inspired. You know, there's times where you have to do what you don't feel like doing. And when... Even though I don't feel like writing songs, it's what I love to do, right, so... Those things can be disconnected sometimes and that's okay. So then, once you're at that point where you have the skill, you've worked on your craft, when that inspiration happens you're ready for it. Specifically with lyrics it'll be an interaction with someone, it'll be a word, it'll be a sound, it'll be a certain thought, something you saw. Seeing a problem that's been around for my whole life from a different angle almost gives me a sense of control over that problem. And with lyrics you can say things new, in a different way, and I think at that point someone can take those lyrics and go "you know what, I know what you're talking about, even though I've not heard it said like that", and then it gives them a sense of control over that thing as well. And I think that's kind of what has happened with us... is that songwriting, I've realized, is trying to look at the same problem I've had for a long time from a different angle and if I can continue to circle around it and see it from every possible angle, the more understanding I have of that problem. And I guess in a sense you guys who make the music your own are kind of seeing it from my angle with me and we're kind of trying to solve it together.
i love that Tyler gives a backstory to his situation/answer. He could have easily just said one person that he admired musically when he was 12, but he let us into his life and gave us this backstory, and a glimpse into how he became who he is today, and i just absolutely love that and am thankful. I admire other artists and creators and musicians, and i love finding out about their headspace and what drives their creativity and how they thought up certain ideas, so this whole video was just amazing.

Yes that’s something I practice - looking at situations from multiple angles, from multiple perspectives, in order to gain control of it. It is the act of separation. When you can see that you are separate from a thing, it no longer devours you. You don’t say “I am depressed”. You say, “depression is happening, and I’m still just me, no matter what I’m Feeling.” When you can call out anxiety for what it is, medically, suddenly the situation that had you triggered no longer upsets you, and then you just wait while your physical symptoms subside. The hard part is remembering to do this.

In a way I feel what Josh talked about. Whenever I look at someone for for than 2 seconds..... I have the urge to immediately look down or someplace else. Especially in class when a faculty is teaching..... I look at them until they look at me. When that happens.... I try to look away in the most discreet way possible so they don't mistake me as me avoiding their lecture .
I love tyjo with all of my heart, but I also love josh with all of my heart, so we need to ask josh more questions specifically for him bc he’s an angel and I wanna hear everything he wants to say
