Rocket science. A term we all use to describe something incredibly difficult. Trying to grasp all of the concepts involved in rocket science can be incredibly intimidating.
My name’s Tim Dodd but I'm better known as the Everyday Astronaut. Recently I fell head over heels in love with spaceflight. My appreciation and curiosity for the subject grew into an obsession. Before you knew it, all I wanted to do was learn more and more... the more I learned, the more I wanted to share what was making me so excited.
But as someone who dropped out of college and has no technical background or degree… I really felt unqualified for the job of explaining rocket science to anyone. But the fact of the matter is, if I can learn this stuff, anyone can.

More engines means a greater range of engine-out capabilities, meaning if one or two engines failed, it can still get to orbit. The Falcon 9 has 9 engines and on a handful of flights, an engine died, which although was a loss for the booster, still allowed the payload to get to a workable orbit. The F-1 was not scrapped, although means to make new ones were scrapped due to costs being severely above what was expected. Here, each engine of Starship (33 on the booster, 6 on the ship) can be made for less than $1M, which is incredibly cheap for rocket engines, and they plan to get that price down to under $250,000 per engine.

If I did this interview I would ask if Elon really know anything he is taking about. Because to me he sounds really confused and couldn't give any straight answer's.
The interview was 40 min he def knew what he was talking about. If you watched the interview the man asked is only for the booster and Elon said yes but it sparks to him he could make it for the ship too.

@@archierush868 that’s what you’ve been fooled into believing. They say space is vacuum and earth is non vacuum. That’s impossible without a solid barrier. So from that alone space ain’t what we have been taught.

I saw three Apollo launches and two shuttle launches from the closest viewing area. Absolutely amazing. I became a fighter pilot with an eye on NASA, but us space exploration was all being done by drone and the orbiter bored the hell out of me. Hanging out in Leo is not my idea of fun, so I stuck with my eagle. Sure wish I could have gotten to Mars.
