So root and bulb "vegetables" actually already have a name. They are called tubers. Every fruit is a vegetable, but not every vegetable is a fruit. I think it's fair to have a category for all edible plant matter. It's just important to be aware of the sub classifications like grain, tuber, leafy greens (despite not all being green), fruits, beans, and pods (like peas). Stems is also a fair category that I didn't consider. Also spices is a weird category that contains a variety of different plant types like bark, berries, flowers, leaves, seeds, and fruits so idk what to do with that. Fun fact, fungi is actually much closer to being an animal than a plant.

The best way to make popcorn is to read the instructions on the bag. There's a suggested time range for cooking. Set the time exactly in the middle of that range.

Historically, there were other definitions. In Judaism, a vegetable is any edible plant which grows in or on the ground, and fruit was reserved for produce which grow from plants which survive from year to year. In this system, a watermelon, strawberry or banana is a vegetable where an almond, avocado or an olive is considered a fruit.

Words have different definitions in different contexts. The word “theory” means something entirely different in a scientific context, so saying a scientific theory is “just a theory” is completely nonsensical. Using the botany definition of the word ”fruit” in a culinary context is nonsensical. This isn’t “Word of the Rings” with “one definition to rule them all.” Your video doesn’t educate, it just further confuses language. Stop it.

Meh. Vegetables exist regardless of your unhappiness with ambiguity. And carrots, potatoes, etc. already have the common separate category of "root vegetables" when someone feels the need to differentiate.
