I was able to get Shiny Alpha Lucario, Lopunny, Ursaring, Quilfish, Gastrodon, and Raichu at full odds from their static encounters. No Shiny Charm. Just got lucky. Shiny Alpha Gallade was the only one I spawn hunted for.

in the round with Luvdisc John actually answered one of the questions wrong. Luvdisc IS in fact used by a major trainer! In pokemon emerald Juan the final gym leader has a Luvdisc as his first pokemon.

To those unaware, do not attempt to save and reload if you find a shiny in a spacetime distortion. Upon reloading the game, the distortion will be gone, which in turn means the shiny will be gone as well. I've never lost a shiny this way, but I have attempted the save and reload strategy simply to avoid having to wait for another distortion and... The distortion was simply gone.
