    Regarding the rando stickers, IKEA states that “You can personalize the charger with the 3 included color stickers in green, orange and blue.” So I guess if you go out with two friends and everyone is rocking their IKEA charger, there is no confusion, provided you and your friends are sufficiently different in your color choices… …or something.

    I bought KM003C and Shargeek S100P last week and just found out that the spec sheet isn't always straightforward. USB C1: Fixed: 5.00V 9.00V 12.00V 15.00V 20.00V USB C2: Fixed: 5.00V 9.00V 12.00V 15.00V 20.00V PPS:3.30-11.00V USB C3: Fixed: 5.00V 9.00V 12.00V The manual says says C1/C2 output but in reality to utilize the full capacity i can only charge my 65W laptop on C1 and 25W Samsung phone on C2 and not vice versa. Still good though I think Anker 737 does best at this class *The web page does say 60W+30W on output specs

    Are the safety listings different between those power adapters sold in North America and Europe? Got a Baseus 160W today and it doesn't state anything (just the CE marking? does that mean anything?) but thenI checked on their website and actually the logos and prints on the back are apparently different. Edit: I meant if they are different in the way they print the logos or not, since I understand they would test the HW for certain safety listings but the logos are only printed for the corresponding market.

    After watching your videos, I had zeroed in on the Rocoren but, I found that they die very often. Now, I'm back to square one. Can you recommend a 3 port charger? I need to charge my iPhone 14, Pixel 7 Pro & Nothing Phone 1 and if possible my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 which requires a 65 watt charger. The laptop thing is nice to have, NOT a must.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace 일 전

      Yeah, the Rocoren and it's heat, which is also basically every other 140W adapter, they're almost all the same adapter. Actually, the 717 from Anker has a bad reputation as well. My number one is still the Satechi 165W charger for the 120V market. It isn't perfect, you have to follow the port order for power consuming devices or it will loop. But if you have things plugs in all the time it's a good performer. Just adding up wattages you have three about 30 watt phones and a 65 watt laptop, so 165 watts to get them all going. It's not the most portable but all the ports are USB C and PD. It may require a PD to (not sure the name) rectangle connector that the laptop might use? It's just an option, there's so many choices out there. I really want a customizable distribution board that breaks out the power from something like the new framework adapter, ha.

    • @MisterBhaarat
      @MisterBhaarat 일 전

      @@AllThingsOnePlace Thanks for the reply, much appreciated! Would your suggestion remain valid for the UK as well which is 220V? Also, wouldn't a 165W charger be an overkill? I'm asking because adding up the 3 phones is only 88W - (20W + 23W + 45W). Laptop is nice to have so I can charge it solo or with just 1 phone. Wouldn't a 65W or a 100W charger be more suitable? If yes, which one would you recommend in this wattage range? Also, having 1 USB-A port will be helpful.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace 일 전

      @@MisterBhaarat It wouldn't be overkill really, it does mean the power supply is operating in a safe range and won't overheat, and will last longer. The reason for not recommending the Satechi for the 220V market is the leakage current, so if using a metal bodied laptop especially, that adapter will leave you tingling when touching it. It's isolated fine but it leaks more than others. For low leakage supplies, Anker and Apple are both really good for this. The 100W prime series, but it's 1A2C configuration means one device gets the slow boat, but it would have the power for the laptop if needed.

    General question about these smart chargers that can supply multiple voltages. What would happen if they were connected to a dumb device, for example, a 12v headphone amp with a USB-C to barrel adapter cable? I assume it wouldn’t know to output 12v. Would it default to 5v or potentially fry the device with 20v?

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace 일 전

      With a basic adapter it will supply 5V, nothing more. You can get a USB PD trigger board to ask for 12V though. Beware some power adapters won't do 12V though.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace

      One is on 230V and one is on 120V, the compliance standards will change to EU ones. It needs a better indicator to let you know that the two tests are different. First all thank you for all the great content you provide. It is rare to find content that is that detailed and also that great presented regarding these topics. I still find myself having trouble understanding all the technical units but your explanations and charts are helping a lot! Regarding the Nightcore powerbanks, I see a lot of people going crazy over them for their low weight and usage for hiking and traveling. I was wondering if there are any other powerbanks wich have a good Power to weight ratio but aren’t that expensive? Also what charger would you recommend for hiking/ traveling light? I was looking at the Google 30W charger, which you recommended or maybe a 30W or higher charger from Anker with 2 ports for simultaneously charging your phone and your powerbank. Thanks for all the videos and keep up the great work <3

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace 일 전

      Yeah, for the power adapter, sounds like you have the right idea. For the power bank itself, I dropped a lot out of this video where I explain there's other options. There's so much wrong with these I had to cut to make it agree with peoples opinions. In terms of usable energy, Anker wins with the 325 power bank, it's slow, but yeah it stores a lot of energy for the weight. The Iniu 20k 22.5W is also in the running, again slow. The NB20000 is also very good at low wattage, it's bad in many other ways though, like it's one of the worst if you use PD, which most of time it won't negotiate properly anyway, great when you are in the field.

    • @sirmordred
      @sirmordred 일 전

      @@AllThingsOnePlace It sucks that you had to cut the original recording, just because of other peoples opinion. I think that a detailed review with honest feedbag is the best way to approach a product. I really appreciate it, that you still uploaded the cut video with all the data and an conclusion! Also I just realized that the data even shows that (7:17) the Anker 325 is better than the Nitecore 20000 regarding Energy density!! When you say that the PD mode on the NB20000 is bad that means that it doesn't communicate with the object to charge efficiently and if it charges at a higher wattage it can't charge the object effectively ( /looses energy due to heat generation?). Since I don't plan on going hiking with a Laptop or anything with a high wattage consumption, I think that a slow charging powerbank is everything I need. I can't imagine anyone needing a light weight travel power bank that can supply 45 W, especially if it does so inefficiently. The Anker 325 seems like a way better investment. Do you how the other power banks from Anker (313 & 525) compete in comparison to the 325? I was really settled on getting the Nitecore 10000 but after watching your video, I am glad that I didn't. You saved me a lot of money and I even learned new things! Thank you again for your videos and your fast reply <3

    • @sirmordred
      @sirmordred 일 전

      I just checked and saw you already had a video up on the different Anker models and also on the Iniu 20k. But regarding the energy density and construction I still think the Anker 325 is the way to go, it would be just slightly better if there was also an USB-C Output.

      @AllThingsOnePlace 일 전

      mmm, yeah, it's about figuring out what protocol they are using if it has a USB port. It could be quick charge or QC, or if PD would need an appropriate PD trigger board. One of the USB monitor things in line would tell you the voltage maybe even the mode depending on what you get. The data lines or cc lines for QC or PD respectively need to be connected as well. If it's just straight voltage, they shouldn't be using a USB port.

  • @massimodistefano79

    Hi, you mention a PD trigger in the usb-c port .. to enable always on on hi power charging .. can you explain how/what to do?

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace 3 일 전

      The PD trigger board can continually ask for an output. Leaving one connected will discharge the battery pretty fast though. Also, it will lose all the USB functions as the PD board has done the negotiation part. So, its more for powering something like a string of LED lights that either needs another voltage (12V for example) and may not use quite enough power to keep things active. In my case I use it with my PVC pipe bluetooth speaker.
