What she explains here is like the first trimester in cnc machinist world. You gotta know this in 1 - 2 mo. If you worked for 6 mo and still dont know this, you are in some trouble. I would say consider something else cuz clearly you have interest issues and yes there are exceptions. No1 key to be a cnc machinist is interest. Got no interest, got no job. Iv been in machining for 5 years and already trained a bunch of people including teen girls. She is doing a good job though.

Great job explaining things. I'm thinking about a career change, and I see postings for different types of CNC machining, such as Swiss. Are they all typically universal? I would guess they operate fundamentally the same, but maybe different types of screens and control panels?

Dont you have to adjust .100" for the thickness of the edge finder? If you 0 on the edge that is not the center of your tool. Also you should edge find your Y before the Z. That way when you takw your Z you are actually centered.
