I’m sure everyone’s comments on the midi specs and trs voltage levels being lower and all that. Not arguing against any of those points at all. Using a different trs dongle on the black box lets it power that exact Quadra Thru, though. I retested it this morning!

Bought it, returned it. Touch screen was completely maddening, sequencer and workflow…still a mystery! 😬

I love the black box and audio over USB is superb.

iPhone as a instrument is good choice. Koala Sampler is one of the best apps in this matter. With Midi controller or even bt QWERTY keyboard i am in hardware music mood fast. Small screen is a bummer but its sill bigger than in any other gear i have (if any). Could probably mimic Blackbox with a iPhone and audio/midi interface... hmm🤔

I don't think it's the compression but rather just how you contextualized the kick in the jam, it has a kind of videogame feel to it

I have one. I wish I could say I've taken the time to get comfortable using it. Every time I touch it, I seem to have forgotten everything I figured out the previous time. I find it unintuitive. Especially sampling on it.

I have a few samplers, but the Blackbox is more intuitive, and easier to get going on than the others. It also is more like a Swiss army knife, being able to do lots of different things, like multi track recorder/player, effects for external input, sequencer, and control voltage record/playback. And it has a small form factor that I really like, and the build quality is excellent, with just the right amount of encoders, and buttons + touch screen, that work together very well. I even installed a battery inside mine, to make it even more portable, and convenient to use. Thanks for the show, and have a great day 😻
