Former Michigander now in Florida. Fished that area MANY times. Was sad to see the devastation but the NEW lakes and rivers will be healthy real soon. Nice to see the recovery of the township and small business getting up and running. Love the videos.

I guess the purpose of these dams now is recreational in nature. There apparently no flood control, hydropower, irrigation, or other types of benefits. Thanking you in advance for a response.
My thoughts are the same. So the emergency gate will avert an event at the dam but just send the flood waters down stream!! I thought this project would have been taken over by the Army Corp of Engineers. A great opportunity to take the millions of $$$ being spent on emergency gates and really solve all problems with retention and gates up stream to manage the water flow. Retention and flood gates have been successful many times elsewhere. Lots of barren and available land along the waterways.
Thank you for the update! Question: Will there be an alarm that goes off when and if the water gets so high it goes over the emergency spillway? And another question: have to sent the information to the local news agencies that you have live cameras at these dams? So that can report on the water height? Or be informed? And again, thank you, you offer a valuable resource! ❤

Nope, it's getting filled in. Too small of a scale to be economically viable, I suspect.

What was the first dam ta give way if am correct seeing your videos there was 3 ta 4 dams that got breached just wondering what was the first dam that gave way down ta the last dam A don't live in Michigan n not sure which is the first ta the last that got breached?
Will they be doing any fortification of the bridge peers under the highway now that the emergency overflow outlet discharge is right there? they see to be a bit under protected considering the potential flows that may come through there.

Nice to see a comparison between the two ships. We sailed on Freedom’s sister ship, Liberty and soon we’ll be going on Harmony’s sister ship, Symphony.
Just my opinion, it’s a shame all those people own homes on the lakefront. The same flood could happen anytime, just might to let the river free.
