The next installment of the VHS series comes in VHS 99 - where we witness a hellish vision of 1999, as social isolation, analog technology and disturbing home videos fuse into a nightmare of found footage savagery. We're breaking down each segment, how they tie together and explaining the ending.

New Jersey for life!!
Kills:Michael is pure evil and becomes less and less human as he kills. Ends:Nope he’s just a guy in a mask.
No one at the resort got suspicious that this couple brings different kids every time they go? Everyone should get fired lol
I Think Annie's character is the most iconic one...the fact that she is so brave and the most terrified character in the movie Got me!!!
If I ever have dementia I have instructed everyone I know to kill me. I can't imagine living like that.
Once you figure out the POV, you have to view it again with new eyes.
This reminds of Outlast
Your obligatory school test after watching this movie: *1. How many horror-type clichés is this movie made of?* *A:* _Every single one._ *B:* _Yes._ *C:* _All of the above._ *2. Was the ending surprising?* *A:* _Never seen a cult somehow successfully convert a whole normal neighborhood; lighting a barbie lantern in unison before genocide, without any form of law-enforcement knowing anything from anyone, until we heard shots fired only from this one house. Yes._ *B:* _Well, it was unrealistic, so yes._ *C:* _Yes, surprisingly disappointing._ *D:* _It ends? Yes._ *E:* _No?_ *3. Were you able to predict most of the events of the film?* *A:* _am a babby_ *BCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZÅÄÖ:* _Yes._ (You will be graded 0-1/1 Slytherin points based on your answers for this test.)
First video of the channel I've seen and the intro started to make me rage. Great breakdown. VHS99 is one of my guilty favorites.
The first movie has a quick shot of tobys feet as Micah's leaning over the lower camera pointing into the hallway. As he leans to screen right for the third time I believe, you can see tobys feet sticking through the spindles in the handrail on the left.
I definitely enjoyed this movie, but i think it kind of convoluted it's own back story. If that makes sense. Like the clown itself. It was a prop from the Hell House crew, so how was it in the Carmichael house? I have questions. Lol.
I personally figured that the moonlight man was her father, a few points to support my argument are, 1 she never mentioned what happened to her father after, 2: him never killing her, 3: last scene she said "you are so smaller than I remember" because she was a little girl and he was a grown up man so she only remember him as a big tall grown up man.
Annie was the real parasite in the movie. She reminds me of so many tik tok creators / influencers.
Not new to this movie true to this movie seen it in 2021
Frankadook is so cute i love him
This one is a classic
the plot is the biggest headfuck I've ever seen
craziest intro ive seen from you in a long while lmao
That Sandra one seems interesting because it reminds me of the Siren one from the first movie.
I know one of the actors in this movie.
And kids, this is why you shouldn't touch grass
Beautiful intro. More ones specific to whatever movie you’re doing!
5/10. It’s a very bad movie, even though the story in itself is not that bad. I love the video though!
A batman pic on wall. Mane, u ain't getting NOOO THROAT.... 🤣🤣
Can you do exhuma? A korean movie that recently released this year. I heard that it was a really great movie
That one when hes dead after killing himself in all realitys, thats tha canon
The movie was going so well, but after the ghosts started to glitch, everything went downhill :/
5:02 I’ve been electrocuted and my boots melted to the floor.
I've watched the movie before but it just hit me the car hes driving is a Chevy blazer and those are notorious for having one spark plug that's very difficult to remove so a ghost being able to do it quickly is pretty hilarious.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but… this was the best movie I’ve seen in years.
I JUST finished rewatching all your VHS explained videos! Great timing
Does this guy explain anything in the movie?
Yeah this movie never made sense. Hearing this guy try to make sense of it is funny.
2:26 lol it’s not a diaper bro it’s Japanese underwear, looks like a diaper tho 😂😂
Believe it or not there are a lot of real missing persons cases like this where ppl will go out into the wilderness on vacation and one of them will just vanish seconds after they were last seen with no real explanation to where they’ve gone…
I could stand a part II like this film. It wasn’t half bad and it was fun to just see schlock with no other agenda then humor and shock value.
Also, you were funny!!
As an Aramean, it was really cool to hear my language mentioned and discussed by George, but what he was reading was NOT any version of Aramaic (old/written/spoken). Some words he supposedly translated aren't even words in our language. Really good movie nonetheless
My perspective: they were the evil ones, Satan was not
ty so much
To get the full scope of this movie Go read the Comics, And yes the Empty man is a Comic, And this movie is a continuation of the comics
I wanna slap you for that absurd opening😂😂😂😂 Hilarious
That intro was like 23 people I knew growing up!
Arent the girl not a younger Ella?
So this is just Grave Encounters 2 all over again right? XD don't get me wrong, I love Both.
The film is an obvious and effective satire on the gaslighting of western populations by their own governments and the passive acquiescence of the western middle classes in particular to their own destruction. Presumably that's what the director intended?
Fkn geek ! 😂
The devil couldn’t do anything to the dad because he needs te people to be able to move in order to make them do things. The dad was bedridden and wouldn’t have been able to harm himself. I do think it’s weird the brother died since he was loved, he had his own family that should have counted
You know what? It's great there was no credit scene sequel beg. Sure, there's the _possibility_ of a sequel with the storm drain scene, but there's no "yeah, we're unquestionably making a sequel, who wouldn't want more of this" end credit thing.
trash movie
