    The whole point of the AI revolution is to REPLACE YOU and in the mean time CONTROL you by making you so scared of being replaced you will take anything and live like a slave. It’s not getting better, it’s about to get much, much worse.

    Very beautiful and i hope this model can apply around the world. But i have a question : when demand of energy storage (battery) increase, can you explain the impact for the country source material to build energy storage ( battery) like a lithium, nickel, Boron, and etc ? And how many energy for extracting from raw material to be battery (energy storage) ? Thankyou

    Workers rights have been eroded over the last seventy years. There is essentially zero check and balance on the demands or whims of management. That's where it went wrong. You can have an incompetent or sadistic person whose personal preferences completely destroy a team, company, or industry. The 24/7 communication technology hasn't helped either, but it's 100% a worker/manager power imbalance issue destroying work satisfaction today.

    Magnificent documentary! 10/10! I really enjoyed it. I've been off work due to Burnout for about a year now and could relate with SO MANY things said here! I hope me and the rest of us currently struggling would soon feel better. Also, if like half of all jobs are basically needless paperwork and consulting, I'm even more sure that AI will replace them all now😂😂

    A few years ago even being alive was a luxury where battles, concentration camps and pandemics killed people in countless numbers. Those days were not so long ago. Compared to that the current generation's struggles are nothing. But still we are having burn outs and mental break downs so often. Do we become less immune to withstanding mental pressures over a few years? Is it because the current generation is feeling more entitled and privileged towards everything in life. I don't know. I am not trying to blame current generation here. It is just that I am confused.

      Isn't this a little like saying "someone with HIV is unhappy, so why is it we also see people with cancer who are unhappy!?" Yeah, there is more than one cause to unhappiness and more than one type of depression. It can be from large-scale catastrophic events or from long, constant personal suffering. This isn't a complicated idea.

    • @prem9501
      @prem9501 6 시간 전

      @@verity3616 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think it is a bit unfair to quote HIV and cancer here both being critical illnesses. It should have been better matching with my example if you are mentioning one critical illness with a minor one (like HIV and headache or cancer and common cold). I am in my late thirties. When I compare the 'kids then' to the 'kids now'(obviously the observation is limited to the small circle of people I know), I feel like they are becoming more emotionally fragile probably due to social circumstances. Just my opinion. I could be very well wrong.

    Lots of refreshing insight, context, and history here. DW docs are great. Now I believe that there is no peace dividend as long as there are autocrats. Every reasonable dictator will inevitably become Putin. We can practice reasonable diplomacy and trade with them as long as they know aggression against nations will quickly end their power. Effective deterance comes first just like safety comes first.

    I am 71 yrs old, born the youngest of four - two older brothers and an older sister. We were all very close growing up and I am very grateful to have had that life. Now in my older years I am closer than before to them - just like the researchers said happens. One funny story - my maiden name is Page. I can remember in second grade the teacher, Mrs. KIttrell, castigating me in class by saying "Just because you are a Page doesn't mean you can't learn arithmetic!" Apparently she had taught my older brothers and sister and was frustrated at having another Page who was poor at adding and subtracting! Her comment didn't bother me. I took it as another example of how we were all conneced. We were all born within 10 years. My mother said she planned our births that way so she never had more than one in diapers at a time.

    cough couch capitalism cough cough it is always nice to see more people waking up to the lies of meritocracy. unfortunately a lot of disenchanted people do not have the guidance to socialism. instead so many fall to complacency or regress. this is why the left needs to make pockets to catch all the people falling from the lies they were built up to believe.

    I spent a third of my time at my last job doing unnecessary, repetitive trainings, reading endless emails, filling in timesheets for myself and my reports, justifying the time I actually did real work, attending meetings, etc. It was exhausting and demoralizing. My coworkers and I wanted to get real work done, not do busywork.

    A lot of times, I sit back and think that people have the younger generations all wrong. They think the younger workers are lazy. In reality, I think they just see the pointlessness of most of the "work" being done, the time wasting like meetings that could be emails and "community at work" (whatever that is) and commuting- all for what, exactly? And they say, yeah. I don't want to do this. And they check out. I'm so right there with them. I'm a Gen Xer and definitely identify with the younger workers on this point.

      Yep... it all comes down to justification for a paycheck. They have to give you something to do even though that something is really nothing. They also get control of your time and even more importantly, your mental health. 😳
