Hey Jerry, I worked as the chief software architect for Li-Cycle from October 2023 to April 2024. I oversaw all the manufacturing process data for every Li-Cycle factory internationally. I wrote a long-form expose on some highly malicious behavior that Li-Cycle leadership was involved with. Long story short, they defrauded investors out of millions. They are conflating the total raw material shredded weight to the black mass collected weight. Lithium battery recycling is extremely crude & inefficient by nature. The numbers & data just don’t add up. The real value is recycling the plastics & aluminum - the black mass collected (if any) is just a nice byproduct. Relative to the amount of weight you shred vs black mass collected & the total energy spent to catalyze & collect the black mass (assuming that all the black mass you collect is suitable for reuse), it ends up coming to a significantly net negative. Li-Cycle is not unique in this regard. Every lithium battery recycler is guilty of greenwashing claims. It’s just not as sustainable as it is made out to seem & as we want to believe. I know I certainly wish it weren’t so. You can Google my articles & videos explaining it all for yourself. Thanks.

Funny thing is i have used iphone for may years i decided to switch to samsung so 3 yrs ago i switch samsung galaxy s21 ultra. It took me awhile to get use to samsung and coz of its complex and mostly unnecessarry. I hated the keyboard the most. I type really slow on samsung where in my iphone i could type with eyes closed not even kidding. My contract has ended and im considering getting new phone. Im going back to iphone. I hated and regret my entire experience on samsung.
