I think it depends on what the iPad is used for. If you just want to read magazines, manga, books etc, watch videos and brows on a larger touch screen, get the iPad 9 for like 300 bucks. If you’re like me and it’s one of your daily workhorses and you draw, photo edit, 3D model, game or even do light video edits on one device, the iPad pros are the best thing in apples lineup in my opinion. Looking forward to what will hopefully be the big overhaul on the pros since the last one was in 2018

It's at the point where Google is a better Apple than Apple. I remember how amazing Apple was in its prime. ONE iPhone (+1 or 2 last gen models), ONE or TWO iPads, THREE VERY DISTINCT Macbooks (Air, Book, Pro), 2 iMacs, the mini and the Pro. Now Apple is out of control with insanely overpriced monitors, a "Pro" that costs thousands more than an equally configured Studio, the Mini, a gajillion iPads and iPhones... The accessories are ridiculous too. Apple, you REALLY gotta simplifiy the ecosystem and focus so that you can price things in a way that makes sense and make people excited about your products again, instead of always feeling like they got ripped off no matter what model they buy.

iPad is great for content consumption. Far better than using a phone or a laptop. My family has had them for years and it is probably the most worth it product in the Apple lineup especially the 329 one or whatever the price of the cheapest one is. They last forever too. For us it is an entertainment device

The iPad Pro I think was really a test to see how good Apple silicon could get in replacing an Intel computer. It was all in preparation for M1.

You're just not understanding tablets at all. Which is pretty sad. As a tech reviewer. You should try to put yourself in the position of someone who would actually use it. Maybe talk to someone who is a fan.. normally tablets, for the same amount of money, as a MacBook, will have much better screens. They are better for casual movie watching. There are better for reading books. They are better for taking notes, like with a stylus. They have touch screen. You can get that m1 processor in a device that's actually cheaper than any MacBook out there really. So for those people who want something light, portable, to watch movies on, read books, take notes, or even do some gaming, all of those things would make it a million times better than a MacBook. Yes, MacBooks are laptops. Tablets are tablets. I think Apple themselves messed a little bit of their marketing up. It's cool that you can do extra productivity work when you need to on an iPad. But it's also not the primary purpose. And I think you're really missing the boat here.

I love my m2 iPad Pro 11 I use it over my MacBook because it’s so much more portable and having 5g is a life saver it’s definitely not perfect and has so much more potential but for 90% of my tasks it’s way more convenient

I honestly prefer to use my iPad mini over my MacBook Pro for almost everything. There is almost nothing I need a full desktop OS for past getting a new vintage phone activated before it’s added to my collection.

As an artist who uses an iPad Pro for illustrating, I cannot for the life of me understand someone who doesn't draw as a hobby owning an Apple Pencil. Like, when you close Procreate or CSP or whatever drawing software you use, that Pencil loses like 90% of it's usefulness, and almost borders on being a hindrance to navigate with. Steve Jobs was right.
