Getting a good top end performance out of a dynamic microphone design is HARD. So a lot of cheapest and filthiest music instrument store specials don't bother and have basically zero sensitivity above 12khz. Maybe worth a try. I wonder if I'd still be able to hear the device. In my 20s I had a fair bit of ultrasonic hearing extension but that was 20 years ago. Now I can still easily hear CRT TVs.

Ive always factored in the added versatility of a pc when comparing vs a console. For me being able to use a pc for more then gaming has inherent value that say id need a laptop for alongside a console. Usually that 3/400 extra will take pc to a different level over console.

I think this is a great tool for preventing A.I. identity theft. No one can record your voice and then use A.I. to make it seem like you have actually said something you did not. It would make your voice publicly anonymous, making it harder for bad actors to do something illegal using it.

To be clear, the problem isn't that companies are working as middlemen to help others get grants. The mic is actually not bad!... As long as you use it as an actual condenser mic. It's a pretty good bang for the buck option if you connect it to a proper phantom power interface and use a normal XLR cable.

@4:59 that frequency spectrum suggests that an AI could deconvolve the motorboat of the jammer from the recorded voice if it is expecting it. The AI of current voice to text apps assumes a certain amount of signal to noise of a single voice. If you encode multiple signal expectations into the AI you could denoise it. @6:22 ultrasound can also create audible interference in large rooms with hard walls. So you could have areas in a rooms that are very dangerous to your ears. @11:05 There could also be some sampling features that go into the microphone's ADC. The frequency features we here are the interference of the higher frequency components most likely being aliased onto the ADC or the file format. (This topic needed more research.)

GameCube is easily C or probably even D territory. It was known for first party games and Resident Evil 4 which got ported anyways. Super Smash made it's smashing debut on the 64. They sat on shelves for a reason. Huge game drought. On top of that, Twilight Princess ended up launching on the Wii, and it was borderline impossible to find a GameCube copy. That console seriously sucked, and Nintendo felt it more than anyone. At least the Xbox was basically a home computer with the best versions of third party games on top of some big money exclusives, and the PS2 was god tier. Wii U is definitely a D. Most people never even realized that it existed. Also, didn't even mention Powerstone or Soul Calibur with the Dreamcast, RIP. Also, Chuck E Cheese was bad ass when I was a kid. There was no better place to be in the '90s as a kid. Maybe a day at the water park was arguably on par. Sony was king in PS1 to PS2 era. Truly the GOAT. Still some of the best games ever made. Suikoden, Final Fantasy VIII-VIII-IX, Tactics, Metal Gear, Armored Core, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, Resident Evil 2-3, Tekken 3. Everything, and the best.
