I love these videos! I don't understand Hindi. Can you please tell me the reason you heat the bamboo? How long do you heat it? Does this make the bamboo prevent set? Can anyone explain to me in english what this heat treatment is about?
When you cut the bamboo, it is necessary to heat the sticks in order to get all the moisture out of it and it also burns the excess fibers on the sticks, it makes the shaving process easier. You can heat them on fire for 10 to 20 seconds so that sticks don't catch the fire. Their colour will change from white to light brown.
And after shaving the sticks you heat them again on high flame for about 5 to 10 seconds and the color will change to dark brown. It gives the sticks extra strength and durability
