It's obvious that all of the non-military people who work on or near the aircraft don't have to be physically fit, but I would think that the USAF would require a decent amount of physical fitness. I would be totally embarrassed to be a part of the USAF, looking like a beached whale and know that you're being filmed!!

I just find this incredibly sad, emotionally sad. Maybe it's because of the Ww2 stories from my dad and grandfather. And Korea from my Uncle. I know it's a dream but I wish we didn't have to have wars. Thanks to all military personnel, you men and women are very appreciated, past and present.

U-2 pilots eat tube food that has a pudding-like consistency and comes in flavors like hash browns with bacon bits, chocolate pudding, and pepperoni pizza. The food is prepared in the Department of Defense kitchen in Massachusetts and comes in containers about the size of a large tube of toothpaste. The tube foods are attached to feeding probes that are inserted into an opening in the pilots' helmets.

I have 2 connections to this. Son was stationed at Marine Barracks, 8&I (I'm also a former Marine, Semper Fi). I had taken a position with Verizon with me taking care of all the Annapolis State Government. The day to see the Blue Angels is the day before Cadet Graduation. The BA practice and buzz around making for a nice show (the day of graduation is a nothing burger). Annapolis itself is very small. Lucky for me, all my accounts were walkable. I also had clearance and keys to access everywhere in every building. I'd watched from rooftops and a cupola prior, but my contact for the State House had a plan. The day and time arrive for practice. We are going to the top of the SH dome! Mind you, this place is older than the nation. We go through the fire doors and start the climb. The steps are small, maybe less than a foot wide, and a 5 inch tread. State contact, I'll call Bill. Bill was built like Joe Rogan. Bill's leading the way, and I pause at a window in the dome. Do you know how things slow down? I see a BA jet, airbrakes down, and starting to throttle up. Close enough to make out his headgear. The BA tore off, and this centuries old dome went to rattling. Dust falling, all that. I'm noping out of there, and the SC was climbing my back to get past me. Good times
