Let me give you advice, look at the audience reviews from RT and Google for The Souvenir. Many reviews have.. I walked out on the movie in it.

Brilliant film
I’m still unsure about how well the ending of the film hit for me but otherwise I loved it, and will probably be a strong contender for my top 10 of the year (rn its tied at number 2)

I am looking forward to what Joanna Hogg brings us next after the sequel to the Souvenir.

August 30th - TOO long away imo
Don't waste your time, it is a bore fest. Many people on audience review sites have one thing in common, a lot said they walked out on it. I had no choice because it was pouring outside and I parked too far not to get soaked. I watched 2 couples walk out.. Another review said that they walked out and asked for a refund.The person that worked there told them this the part of the movie were they see people walk out and ask for a refund or could go see another movie.
Andrew Sep actually I ended up seeing it at the Edi film fest and loved it! I think it’s just one of those more thoughtful and ‘artsy’ films that not everyone likes/appreciates. The way it was crafted alone (without a script) is interesting in itself.

I wanted to love this, and I did, partly, but a couple scenes were real missteps for me.

@@sollybowden1357 good question. I should have said when I posted the question a year ago now. The one I still remember was when Tilda Swinton’s character cried after the boyfriend died. Did she cry because she liked him so much or because she was sad for her daughter? I’m not sure but it seemed like an over reaction on her part and it didn’t ring true for me. Just my opinion.

I saw this movie and I have to say... 2 hours of my life I want back. This movie is awful. Don't get fooled by critics review. I don't know what movie they saw and what drugs they were on when they saw this. Audience reviews are in and they agree, boring, waste of time and many people said they walked out on it.
