A24 releases good movies when they actually market them. The fact that they didn’t even tweet out this trailer and are spending all their social media presence on pimping The Farewell doesn’t bode well for this movie. They release good movies but they’re very easy to read when they think a movie sucks.

Wtf are you being sarcastic? It literally spoils like half the movie: guy joins the army, at first he feels close camaraderie with his fellow soldiers, but soon finds out some fucked up shit is going on, so he's torn between exposing them or keeping it secret, while also transitioning from a rookie to a full-fledged soldier. Like that's about an hour or more of the movie right there, that you can tell from this trailer alone. I don't know, I liked for example the first trailer for Interstellar back when that released - that was a trailer that REALLY didn't tell you anything about the plot.

TragicOn DaBeat yeah no shit he was right. that's called the *synopsis.* it's something every film ever made ever has released way ahead of even the trailer itself. it's something that often is already thought up during the fucking pitch meeting for christ's sake. this guy is an idiot for thinking he's a genius for picking up on all that. and i'm still unsure as to how describing a press-release synopsis as some personal, revelatory, hyper-analytical takeaway from the trailer validates the claim that it "spoils" the entire film.
This is Alexander Skarsgård's third deployment, I think he qualifies for a military discount now
To think this is the same (straight) man who will happily launch himself into gay sex scenes with pure joy for the craft of acting out the human experience. He really is the next level of human being.

Hopefully Nat is better than he was in that shitty ass Death Note movie. His brother was pretty damn good in Hereditary, so hopefully he can pull of an equally impressive performance.
If you've seen movies like Stuck in Love and Rosy (which Nat Wolff stars in both), then you'd know he's capable of an amazing performance. It's just that Death Note had a bad director. I don't know, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

@@JorgeCarnero_ both a bad script and bad direction I'd say. Death Note's soundtrack, cinematography and editing were all pretty bad, those are all directorial choices. Not to mention the casting for L.

I saw this movie at the Tribeca Film Festival. Alex was excellent in it. I hope it gets more theater time because it is a great one to see on the big screen!

It's difficult to describe how good a A24 trailer makes me feel! Always leaves me in a state of heightened anticipation!

Good view if your reasons are noble and true. Thing is, that good and bad is kind of subjective and can mean opposed things depending on own perspective. So in reality, compromise is the only way to not kill each other and thrive with mutual benefits.
Rorschach was not supposed to be a sympathetic character. Dude was a fascist serial killer with delusions of righteousness. He was a deconstruction of the "never compromise" gritty noir comic book characters, and a commentary on how that mindset would be incredibly destructive. It's certainly admirable to stick to what is moral, but remember the guys in ISIS believe they are sticking by whats moral.

The story this is based on isn’t nearly as bad as what the movie depicts. It was still pretty fucked up and made my job harder (hearts and minds type stuff) that summer, but didn’t go as far as what the movie depicts. I think at that point being 9 years into a never ending war made some Soldiers feel like they had to be some kind of stereotype that just wasn’t real amongst non-Special Operations Soldiers. We definitely saw a lot of “hero worship” from younger Big Army types and this story is definitely about a few Soldiers who let their morality and their souls burn for what they felt they should be.
Looks interesting as usual. Lighthouse has my main attention. A24 are seriously killing it

When I hear there's an A24 movie coming called "The Kill Team", I don't think of a brutal war allegory. I think of an "Avengers"-type team-up between their scariest characters, i.e. the Witch, Paimon from "Hereditary", Mr. Tusk, the dress from "In Fabric", etc.
That aside, this looks like another A24 winner.

To be honest this shows infantrymen accurately. We do know right from wrong and people do need to understand none of actual accounts wouldnt have happened if people kept washington in check like the founding father said we should. A guy rated him self out and those he was there with over guilt. I get it, my own government wanted me to change or give up my religious beliefs over a experimental and illegal mandate according to UCMJ in 2021. I choose the same MOS he did and i signed up to things. I do have a lot in common with how it feels to be treated as the outsider or coward out of the group over a me being religious and everyone said i was lying about my beliefs. The truth is out that the war was for money and drugs and all the dead died for nothing. Accountability for those above is needed.
