@@tootmctoot1744 Now it's hard to find new horror movies with this much color. Mainstream horrors are usually dark, grim etc. but they aren't exactly scary (most of them). I'm looking for something new and probably this movie won't be genre-breaking although I can't wait for this one.

the color palette for this is genius. these "light and airy" colors have been dominated by wedding photographers and totally contradict the tone of the film. it takes a masterful director and DP to make this color scheme scary. so neat.

This. That's what excites me the most tbh. A movie like this with most directors would be set in some dimly limit, night time festival with shadows. Having this colorful, airy aesthetic for a horror movie is rare, can't wait.

Denis Villeneuve released made a movie every year from 2013 to 2017, and they were all fantastic. I really hope this is the same thing with him.

1:18 those screams of despair. My goodness this guy really knows how to make the hairs on your neck stand up. Instantly you feel trapped in this nightmarish claustrophobic world. The fact that everything is bright and shiny really puts your mind in an uncomfortable place that reminds you of a horrible dream you've had.
Remember Toni's crying in Hereditary?? That was so painful to listen to. I get the same chills at the end of this trailer.

Living in Sweden, this is actually a quite accurate representation of what it feels like to be dragged out into a small cottage in the middle of nowhere (usually a big field, an island, or in the forest) during Midsummer

honestly once you see what the story is, you'll just think its a comedy. appropriating a country's culture to fit a certain narrative. maybe makes for entertaining premise but kinda lazy in my opinion.

I've seen the two cuts of the movie like 5 times each, and a lot of scenes from both trailers don't end up in the director's cut, plus one of the paintings imply that there is another ceremony we don't see where the women go naked in the river

Reasons of why i loved "Hereditary":
- The protagonists weren't a stupid group of adolescents.
-No porn involved.
- Has a sect theme.
- No stupid screamers to scare you.
- Really good plot.
- Suspense almost kill you.

Doop Pood I think the ending itself is quite alright, it is very similar to Hereditary and a myriad of other cult related films. I did see it coming however the build up and the events that take place leading up to that finale were mentally draining and claustrophobic to me. Just reading it my imagination for the scenes went rampant, I’m hoping they’re as anxiety inducing on screen as I made them be in my head. I think Ari Aster is capable though, Hereditary is one of my favourite horror films of all time.
I’m hoping this goes well. Hereditary was unpredictable because it was wildly different and I didn’t exactly know which direction it was going to go and how it was going to end which is why it took me off guard. The setting of this film and the plot surrounding the lead actress however gave it away a lot more. There are a few interesting concepts going on though, the actors really have to carry it as the script at times can sound very...90’s stoner. As long as they immerse themselves completely in the story then they should pull it off, it’ll take a lot to beat the performances of Hereditary. I will say though that people not entirely tuned to horror will find this ending very terrifying and nerve-wracking. Mainstream audiences will most likely be divided as they were with Hereditary.

I have a cabin in this Swedish resort type place where people buy or rent cabins to use in the summer and we celebrate Midsummer with the maypole the flower crowns the dresses and everything so I’m really excited for all my friends to see this movie and think I’m a part of some cult

Literally the week before i saw this movie i had a bad lsd trip on a really hot day and got pretty much lost in the countryside, this brought it back and made it so real for me and the way the effects are portrayed are so authentic. remember how it feels to be terrified for no reason. Really added to the unnerving atmosphere

I'm disappointed in the way this year's Oscars turned out (Colman aside), but it's worth pointing out that A24's MOONLIGHT won Best Picture two years ago. I hope it's just a temporary glitch than a long-term regression.
Campaigning for Oscar is expensive, i would rather A24 make more movies than campaigning millions for a movie that we all know was great. Awards are great tho, but winning a trust from people is more important
Hereditary is the best horror film I’ve ever watched it has an impact like no other film I’ve watched, I’ve cried, laughed, felt unpowered, and thought over movies before but the anguish and dread of the that movie is easily the most impressive experience a movie has ever brought me
I think it’s just that A24 doesn’t really want to push more campaign for oscars. First it was expensive and exhausting and second both of those movie are truly classic that we doesn’t care if it didn’t have any award. Like Olivia Colman is great winning Best Actress but we know that Toni Collete is the woman of the year in 2018

I've watched this a couple of times already. It looks so good! I loved Hereditary and can't wait to see what Aster does here. Not just what story he tells but how he tells it. Love the music used in this trailer too. A very well crafted trailer like this is not so common these days.

I am not going to be able to get this movie out of my brain, ever. The thought of Midsommar is going to take me back to this bright, bizzare world created by Ari Aster, a man genuinely taking the form of modern day David Lynch. Each and every frame has such paradoxical implications that shock your senses to the core. This movie was a cinephiles delight.

I love how bright and shiny everything looks. The juxtaposition of the lightness mixed with the creepy cult vibe is so damn good. It reminds me of that old movie Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, the setting and costumes even look slightly similar.
Ari aster has proven himself with hereditary to be able to make slow moving horror without jump scares. I’m so pumped to see a pastel colored slow paced horror movie

The script for this is great! You never expect what she's actually gonna see through the keyhole. It's expectedly gross & disturbing but in a different way than you would imagine....
