Bo acting serious is so off putting he has so much power it’s terrifying.
IT'S BO YO!
Okay, but honestly I'm so proud of him. What an inspiration.
Between this and Inside, Bo has proven to be a really great filmaker. I hope he continues directing.
This was so powerful and inspiring. I’m so proud of him.
I loved this movie. Funny how a truthful portrayal stands out and gets praised a lot (which it deserves) because we are always surrounded with the same old rubbish, especially with teen movies, so it becomes refreshing for us to see a real depiction. Art is not dead anymore❤️
True
"If we're telling the truth we shouldn't be scared or worried."
AGREED. A simple sentence but something you can live by.
keyword 'should'
We love to feel good about statements like that as universal truths, but history teaches us that there's more to it ;)
I finally watched it and it was very relatable to when i was in middle school. I’m a senior in high school now. Made me tear up when Elsie Fisher was talking to her dad over the fire where she was burning “her hopes and dreams”. She is such a good actor! I read she’s actually outgoing in real life so it’s really impressive that she could act so socially inept! Wow! Great job Bo!
Going to watch it now, haven't seen it in a few months. I'm in 10th grade now (age of the actors I presume) so this totally captured my experience!
Actually all of the actors were actually the age of their characters
@@megamoviez so by now they'd be in 10th grade!
Jackson Gary yep! elsie filmed this after graduating 8th grade, and it came out before she went to 10th!
What a damn genius, brilliant movie you magnificent bastard.
His ability to think about these big issues so rapidly and casually is just... I'm in awe. One big question would take the average person a couple of years to stumble upon a metaphoric solution to, which of course wouldn't cover all cases.
I absolutely love A24 movies. They have produced some of the best moves in the coming of age genre.
I love how honest and truthful this movie actually turned out being. It's beautiful and raw and visceral. It makes you relive the worst parts of your teenage years with all the uncertainty and anxiety and it gives you hope.
This movie spoke to me in ways I’m still trying to unravel. That feeling of trying to fit in and be confident, but fear of the reaction from others. Bo continues to surprise me.
Congratulations A24 on another awesome year.
Is he one of the most talented artist working right now or what
I'm going to get it on DVD!!! I'm so excited my friend and I are going to have a sleepover when I get it and I can't wait
One of my favorite movies ever!
I cried with this movie
You are very smart! We are so proud of being able to learn since we're Grade 8. Thanks for sharing. Most of our major learning experiences are about 8th grade! Thank you in advance.
Bo is so tall haha.
that thumbnail where Bo and Elsie are looking at each other sitting on the floor is precious
This is exactly how I felt when she got anxiety when something happened I felt it too this is exactly how my eighth grade went
Amazing movie!
Bo omg mr Burnham
isn’t that guy from vine
He was on KRplus before he was on Vine but also yes he made some vines
No, hes from youtube.
he has two comedy specials on Netflix :)
Eighth Grade/10
You are so talented , we're gonna die !
Behold. The one who wrote Welcome To The Internet 2 years later.
im in eight grade and my life is SO similr to hers.
OH BOOO
the actors in this movie are very realistic. why do movies with a bazillion dollars have unrealistic acting? the office and this movie are the best acted pieces of art and i can't understand why, do directors not utilize talent correctly? whenever i tune into a show someone else is watching, the bad acting pops out so evidently, everything is so cookie cutter. whats the point of acting if its not meant to be as real as possible? isnt that the goal. it really bothers me as you can tell
Where can I watch the full movie?
💙
I really want to see this movie but I’m not sure if I can
Gucci!!
OMG MY BOI MADE THIS MOVIE
What’s that song?
Does this mean I can buy this movie now!?!?!
Will this film ever come out in the UK
i doubt it
That sucks :-(
Maybe when you change your VPN to America or some other country you will find it.
I have a feeling it may be at the BFI London Film Festival as the Surprise Film.
Mateusz Olszewski would rather watch it in cinemas to be honest but if it’s not been announced by the end of the year I’ll get it online
What's the title of the song featured in this?
slip away by perfume genius
@@comedicmemoir thank you kind sir!
He looks familiar
Make a film about every age.
Gucci!
oh hes cute
...I wanna see a REAL featurette now
YATI
Isn´t that girl from Castle Rock?
Who knew that a guy who bases on dark comedy and dry humor would make a drama movie about a 13 year old
I was 15 in 8th grade lmao
Wut da frick
Why isn't Bo Burnham in the credits, it only says "The Burnhams"
do you are have stupid?
hmm!
BO BO BO BO BO BO BO BO
Eighth grade was the worst year of my life
It was an ok movie. Prob won’t watch it ever again.
I saw this film when I was like 14. It was ass. Bad movie
Not a bad movie, but a bit unbelievable. She is a social outcast and is not typical. She's supposedly in 8th grade and still a virgin, a rare thing now. She won't be very popular in high school at that rate. But being a loner is not always bad, either. She can still be a career woman and does not need to be involved with men.
