Hilariously, this comment is on the trailer for the lowest rated film the studio has ever made.
Saw this movie at Sundance and met the cast. This movie moved me like no other movie I have watched. It's so powerful, and Logan's performance is one of his best in his career. Brilliant cast.
A lot of people are claiming A24 make great films but they don't, they DISTRIBUTE great films.
They produce them as well, which is a part of the process of making films, which means they also make great films.
Without the distribution the movie can’t be made

What? So many films are made without distribution in place and A24 has bought the rights to a buncha great ones. A24 come across these cool films at festivals or through connections and see something in them. Cool stories they know will find an audience, then they market them in interesting ways. That's where their genius is. Hail A24, but do it for the right reasons and don't take away anything from the people who worked to get the film made before they new if it'd ever hit theaters.
Not saying they don't produce ANYTHING, but i believe most of their catalogue is made up of acquisitions. Correct me if I'm wrong but Moonlight was the first film they were involved with during production and they put out a lot of films before that.

Interesting to see they've changed the title since it played at Sundance as just "Sidney Hall". I wonder if the theatrical cut is still as bad as it was when I saw it there.

I just found the main character to be totally insufferable and the dialogue was super pretentious and flowery. It's the kind of movie where we're supposed to be invested of the story of this supposedly tortured "genius", but I just didn't care. Other people might have different reactions, though.

Good trailer, but the small sample size of reviews were not kind at all. A24 picked up the wrong film which is a major disappointment.
It has a 7.8 on IMDB.
I am aware of the bad reviews but the trailer looks good so I guess we'll have to see. Though I live in the UK and it will probably come out here on VOD eventually.

But have you watched the film? Most of those reviews were by some triggered feminists who didn't like the beginning. This film is brilliant. I have watched it at Sundance, and it is phenomenal.
