The mv (not really the song) talks about how they are growing but they don’t want to mature, since they still want to be happy as when they were young (there you can see Irene dressed as youger self) but the song strangely talks about love(?) (like many of their songs)
Most of the time their love songs have a message behind them and we can see that with dumb dumb , russian roulette , red flavor , psycho...

Most of the time their songs and videos are standalone and don't necessarily need each other to have a cohesive meaning. the song might be random lyrics or about love but then you have a video with a deep and meaningful message behind it. i love that it can be conveyed through multiple meanings and interpreted differently. for Red Flavor, the video is mostly on them finding the balance between having fun and growing up (shown by them interviewing their respective fruits, clips of things growing and words like ripening, growing, and of course children that look like them meant to represent their younger selves). As for the song, I'm not really sure I haven't really looked into it because it's korean, even tho every once in a while i see english translations but i forget lol.
The fruit thing is so easy but nobody seems to notice 😂 in red flavor the concept is about growing up, maturing the same way fruits do in summer, that's why you see pictures of them as babies and later, them acting as their old younger selves, basically growing up but keeping the fun of being young. And in power up, it's totally different, but they still used their respective fruits, it's about refreshing people with their music, as in refreshing fruits, that's why you see them transforming into the fruits records or the members listen to music through them.
I just saw a comment in the reaction to “Power up” that if he thought that had a lot of fruit he would be overwhelmed with Red Flavor😂💖👏🏼
I love their music but their b-sides really are like the cherry on top, it’s just so good whether it’s the red side or the velvet side, once you get into more of their music I really recommend checking out their b-sides

Red flavor is with no doubt one of the best Red velvet songs. Its so iconic. Everyone knows it and its so popular in korea also. They owned 2017 with this. It was the first song of red velvet i heard and it immediately got me hooked. It's so catchy and fun! It never gets old!

demitwice Oh yeah no problem, yeah everyone thought she wrote it at first, but I forgot which radio show it was at, anyways it was during their promotion for Red Flavor and she said the rap part was originally lower, but she just made it higher
there is a confusion with yeri's rap. She explained that she did not write it, simply changed the rhythm or the tone (I don’t know) of the rap to make it easier.
