Sarah Hyland (Haley) has had 16 surgeries, 6 in the past 16 months. She has some serious medical issues that she's been dealing with since birth. Her dad and her brother have each donated her a kidney. She's been in constant pain and discomfort the past few years and yet continues to soldier on despite dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts. The fact that she still has energy to dedicate to filming this show is pretty incredible. You really don't know what someone is going through, so be respectful of her situation. She's one of the strongest people I've ever heard about.

Alex is the weakest link of the show. There is no humour in her acting style and she just repeats the same frustrated look throughout the seasons. It would be good if they got rid oh her way back when she was sent to uni.

I love how Haley’s arc was developed. It seems more realistic rather than have a typical ‘’the bad girl falling for the right guy’’ arc. What happened to haley is very much accurate and more relatable. looking back to what happened to the ‘’it girls’’ of my high-school years, about 90% of them ended up in a miserable situation making wrong decisions in every turn. And while haley made the wrong decisions in life, she soldiers on to still make lemonade out of lemons. compared to the people I know, the haley character actually had a better ending.
But her life didn't turn miserable as you trynna make that point here

They have just ruined Haley’s character arc. This whole season there’s so less of her and even before this. Making her settle for Dylan and giving her twins when she was actually trying to have a career in a field she loves. Just went downhill from there

Love the show, but it does frustrate me that Haley didn't end up with Andy. It seemed like he was a natural evolution from Haley's more immature, rambunctious days. They had great chemistry and were very endearing, I was fully invested in the relationship. I would've loved to see a fitting happy ending. I'm still not sure if Andy's actor didn't come back due to behind the scenes difficulties, that would definitely make sense. Oh well, anyway.
Who says Andy and Haley would have had a happy ending? Happy endings are nothing more than stories that haven't finished.
They would have both made each other better because their personalities are so different, but eventually they would have both grown and matured to the point where they would have exhausted what they could each bring and contribute to the relationship; and than amicably part ways with no hard feelings.
Adam Devine (Andy) just blew up right around that time. His career exploded beyond a recurring role, which was awesome for him, but unfortunate for those who were really getting into the Haley/Andy relationship.

I honestly disagree with it. I didn't like Arvin since he appeared. He could have anyone in the world who really appreciates his work, as Alex said. Sure many other girls in his class would've been in love with him like Alex. But who does he ask for a date? Haley, the "beautiful' one who rejects him at the beginning. Since they're together, what does their relationship consist on? He speaking about his job, boring Hayley, and lying to his parents about Hayley, ashamed that she hasn't got a university degree. Maybe he's a genius in his job, but for life he's a jerk, hypocrite and superficial. It is even more clear un this scene, wanting both to be nice to the sisters and to make people think he's protesting with them. He's not worthy of anyone, less to our Alex. She deserves more. Sure, for Hayley I preferred Andy, but Dylan is way better than Arvin.

I was initially sad to see the show is ending but when I think about it I'm glad. It's a good place to end but I can't help but feel disappointed at Haley's storyline. She was the one I was seriously rooting for but she just ended up becoming everything that was said as an insult and got with the worst selection of boyfriends. Andy was so good because he challenged her and yet appreciated her for who she is. To end up pregnant with twins with a man that is the worst parts of her father personified is sad af. Glad the show is ending tbh
Sorry but they ruined Haley’s arc by regressing her character so much she’s back to the beginning. It’s upsetting enough her not being with Andy but she could’ve ended up with anyone except the moron Dylan, getting her pregnant with no direction in life. They messed her up man the show sucks now

Haley and Dylan's relationship is meant draw a parallel to Claire and Phil's relationship. Everyone apparently thought that Phil was a moron too, but he grew up by the time we meet him in season 1.
i think they tried to show how much like claire she is, dating the “bad guy” not going to collage ect, i think they did that, and dylan isn’t a moron, maybe u don’t like him but him and haley were basically the same, no direction in life isnt such a bad thing, maybe there just gonna go wherever life takes them, love haley’s character and i don’t think it was ruined.
They wanted to keep her relatable. Also, modern family was supposed to have everything: gay parents to an adopted child from vietnam, a couple with stark age difference, a mother who got married because she got pregnant, too many kids creating a ruckus; a hustler, an academic and a traditional definition of a failure of daughter.
It’s been a couple of years since I’ve see this show and Alex has changed so much

I know the show has ended, but I would love to see a 'reunion' episode next year or maybe in a few years, where the characters develop and mature even more than they already and some of the endings the fans wanted could be put into place. It could be set 5-10 years in the future, and one ending that I would love see happen is if Haley and Dylan end up getting happily divorced, since over the years being with each other nonstop, they realized they weren't exactly compatible so decided to end things, but still be very close and raise their twins together. Andy could have visited to see Phil and get some real estate advice from his first mentor since his career wasn't going as well as time had passed and he was thinking about pursuing other options, related to real estate, so wanted his advice. He could have met a single Haley and since his relationship had failed for whatever reason, they would've started a long-distance relationship since they both realized they were meant for each other. Andy returned permanently to California to start his own business and move in with Haley. He would be amazing with the kids, having been a manny, and treat them as his own. Dylan approved of this relationship and found his own claire, and they were happily engaged. Dylan moved in with his fiance and Andy and Haley moved in together with the twins in a new place, so their old apartment got new tenants.
Alex ended up moving to Switzerland and actually lived with Arvin. They moved back a few years on since the team had grown so much that they could move back to the family whilst still helping over online meetings. They got married and had a baby. Unlike Haley and Dylan, they were perfect for each other and are happily living in their own apartment.
Luke met a girl in college and hit it off. Luke finished 4 years of college with good grades, surprising the rest of the family. He moved back home with his girlfriend in their own apartment, and Manny was their temporary roommate, just until Sherry finished college.
Manny rekindled with Sherry Shaker. Sherry had given up on improv and had gone back to college to study law. Sherry was living in college in Manny was living with Luke.
Lily, Rex and Joe either could be mentioned throughout the episode but not make an appearance since they couldn't be aged up or be recast.
The last 5-10 minutes of the episode could give us a bigger jump to a family reunion in Jay and Gloria's back yard. Andy and Haley could have kids, Dylan and his fiance also have kids who are best friends with Andy and Haley's kids, even though they are related somewhat through George and Poppy. Alex and Arvin had two more kids and started their own research team thingy. Manny and Sherry moved back in together and were very on-and-off but still very happy. Luke and his girlfriend got engaged and also had twins. If L, R and J didn't get recast, they would be skipped but if they were recast, Lily had adopted a Vietnamese child with her husband and had another kid of her own. Rex was still in school and Joe could either be in school or be out with a partner, depending on how many years pass.
