Arsenal were undoubtedly the favourites - they had only lost two matches all season and been defeated just once in their last ten North London derbies. As a Spurs fan, this match is my fourth favorite match.

as a kid i remember the FA cup being huge. I'm struggling to remember when it stopped being important, i know many point towards united withdrawing, but I'm not so sure. all i do know it's a sad competition these days. also why the fuck did they rebuild wembley?? I would love it if they gave the winner a champions league spot, but i can ever see that happening, plus there are many logical arguments why that is not a good idea. i don't care, i want to see people view the fa cup how we used to see it

The magic of the FA Cup has gone now. Teams would rather qualify for the UCL than win the FA Cup. The build up to cup was such a great day, the songs, watching the coaches driving down to Wembly, speaking to celebrity football fans, this has all gone now. Money has spoilt the beautiful game.
