Yall need to stop assuming Aespa's debut is is to cover up Irene's controversy. Search it up, Aespa social media all were created on June and even SM gave us spoiler about them in SuperM MV before Irene's controversy. Well, nope. SM always do this even with RV. My take is that they want their older girl groups to go down in reputation a little bit so the newer groups would go up faster. Or else it'll be like every SM boy groups like EXO and NCT. NCT couldn't exceed the expectations of EXO because EXO's reputation is so high. So if they want their new group to succeed then they need to put down their older groups. This is just one of their tactics

And similarly Aespa is also from SM which is a part of Big3. People usually hate the new groups from BIG3 because they think they are privileged and the same thing might happen to Aespa too, so let's support them wholeheartedly.
