It's because we have distinct attitudes towards our lives. One may be ambitious but another ain't. That decides how we want our lives to be. But "who climbs the mountain?". It's useless and nonsense if we just leave your dreams behind and not pursue them. At the end of the day, some will realise they're still at the foot of the mountain and praise "how so tall" it is while others succeed at the top and see a higher one. 소름돋는다
제목은 에베레스트이지만 가장 낮은 곳에 내려와 있는 게 소름.. 낙하랑 연관있는 거 같아 더 멋있음
All the songs of the album are gold. I like how this one builds up, it illustrates the idea of climbing the mountain, gradually, step by step. How the glory, the feat, is actually in the climbing, the long journey of determination and grinding. Also, I'm pretty sure Chanhyuk is one of the people doing the backup gang vocals. Also, the minimalist instrumentals of this album are very AKMU, it's amazing how they have been able to constantly evolve while somehow maintaining their acoustic singer-songwriter roots.

Isn’t this song the perfect song to sum up AKMU and Sam Kim? [edit: Before joining kpop star both artists were living away from Korea; Mongolia and America, respectively. They both followed their dreams and came back to Korea and became the winners] of their respective kpop star season. Now they are now far from where they had begun just like how this song narrates of climbing ever so tall mount Everest and achieving it. It just dawned to me how meaningful this collab is for them. To be clear, Sam Kim was born in USA and AKMU went to Mongolia on an evangelical mission trip. Neither of them left Korea due to "struggle". However they certainly struggled when they left their homes and came to Korea. Well said.

8년전 사회 생활을 시작했습니다. 너무 급하게 시작해서 부족한 것을 메워야겠다는 생각만 하며 달려왔습니다. 너무 힘들었고 자존감도 떨어졌습니다. 포기하고 싶다는 문장만 수백번, 수천번 썼습니다. 울기도 많이 울었습니다. 저는 그만두고 싶었는데, 어떤 이는 "지금 그만두면 아깝지 않냐"고 했습니다. 생각 없이 버텼고, 버티면서도 이게 맞는지 몰라 헤맸습니다. 그런데 오늘 결국 8년만에 승전보를 받았습니다. 헉 소리밖에 안나왔고, 그간 힘들었던 시간들이 주마등처럼 스쳐지나갔습니다. 지난해 10월 간절히 원하던 곳에 가기 위한 준비를 하면서 이 노래 많이 들었습니다. Award shows these days only nominate idols or artists that are popular or they know will bring them a lot of money :( we know that AKMU is popular in Korea but since they attract the general public more they don’t necessarily always get the votes they deserve
reastically speaking, the only award akmu might win AOTY is Korean Music Award (they assess quality rather than popularity) but then again we have IU as contender too. I might be bias but I think maybe this year AKMU deserves take this one? ...pls 🥺🥲

역시 기대 이상의 작품을 내주시는 악동뮤지션..
It's funny because Everest as a mountain is actually much more depressing. Because lots of amateur climbers that refuse to come with a Sherpa/guide and die on top, and many of them are crucial to the hike as their bodies become a landmark on where is safe and where isn't. There's also lots of trash because commercialised beautiful landmarks/nature have always been a place for people with trash personality goes to "find themselves". I love this song.

Sherpa's families are always scared everyday when their dad, husband or son go to Everest and pray that they'll come back safe cuz many have lost lives some because of immature climbers.
It’s not really about Everest if you look at the lyrics. A mountain like Everest can be a challenge in your life, an obstacle that threatens to hinder you. The song is praising those who work hard to keep climbing in spite of the difficulties.
