Nothing hurts more than this song when you used to listen to it to a time where you and your best friend had sworn to always be there for each other but got torn apart by the passage of time.
It hurts to remember how we always used to comfort each other and both feel loved.
We had no one but us two but things don’t always turn out the way you want them to, especially when you’re both mentally ill and can’t help but break everything even more.
It hurts even more when you’re aware of your faults, have been unable to change them and were forgiven over and over again to mess it up again and still get another chance.
but everything comes to an end eventually.
To anyone reading this: if there’s someone you love, please listen to them, make sure to know what they need and most importantly, don’t set yourself up for failure!
If you mess up once, that’s alright, everyone deserves a second chance and such things can be fixed.

Honestly, I don't think it's necessarily a simplistic artist vs artist comparison like you're implying.
For one thing, Benjamin writes the music he preforms. Most of the artists you're talking about, don't. That's why most of the more popular music sounds alike. It's written by... like 3 different people. And that's the music for about... 40+ popular artists.
