The daughter of a Korean adoptee, AleXa was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A lifelong dancer, AleXa competed in “Rising Legends,” where nearly 1 million fan votes determined her the winner. She is sadly not accepted in Korea because she is mixed race and she couldn't speak Korean when she first started. And in America? Hahahah...she is a half Korean Oklahoma girl. She had no chance to become a star singer in America if she went the Hollywood route.
We are lucky we can have her as she is. And she should be proud of the career she has had. Her company is awesome. They aren't even a record label but a music video company and CEO Kim decided to take a chance on her because no other record label would sign her or give her a chance.

My theory is because she is mixed white and Korean and she is from Oklahoma. She would already face an uphill climb trying to be a singer in America due to being from Oklahoma. And in Korea if it weren't for Mr. Kim, the CEO of a music video production company who has only signed her as their only artist, we would never ever hear of her as a Kpop star.
We should cherish that we even can enjoy her as she is now.

She is in a strange situation isn't she? She has no advantage of Korean fluency from birth like Koreans and Korean Americans and was not a part of a girl group so the other Koreans can help her out. She is truly unique. Koreans don't embrace her because of her mixed race and in the USA a half Korean Oklahoman girl has no chance in Hollywood or NYC for pop stardom.
