This song hits home for me. I got pregnant at 16 and was told my life was over and i would always be on assistance and i would never become anything. My teachers looked at me differently so did my friends and even some family members. Little did they know is that i would go back to school 2 weeks after giving birth to graduate high school early with straight A's and immediately start working full time. 11 years later I have a good paying job and im married to the love of my life who loves my daughter as if she was his own. We now have three kids, I own a house, 2 cars, and a camper. "I was born to break the mold" ❤❤ don't ever doubt a underdog.

I grabbed a cab from my nephew's house in Birmingham UK to the city centre when I was visiting from NZ in 2014 and the driver was an Afghan. He relocated to the UK to give his children, particularly his daughters, a good education. He said he loved living in the UK. I heard this song when it was released and the second verse took me straight back to that day in Birmingham and that conversation. Awesome. This song means a lot to me.

I needed to hear this today. I honestly want to give up on my school and work. It is so hard to do everything by yourself. I work every day and night with little pay or help in order to pay my bills and go to school full time while living in my own apartment. With all that is going on, I thank God for every step he lets me see in the dark. Amen my sister ❤👩🏫 I love this song and it was at the perfect time!! I've been chasing a dream to become a midwife nurse but became a teacher. I have had a very tough first 2 years well 3 teaching but knows God has a plan for me. It has been so tough as I have quirks and like be genuine with others and reach out to be pushed down. Teaching has molded me into a new person and has gotten me in touch with God. I feel I have Aspergers and honestly it is so hard for me to read all the social cues but God made me quirky and huggy o pechichi and like I connect and break the ice with many people at the cost of being vulnerable and taken advantage of or made fun of or becoming the underdog. But like you know to touch the lives of others and share genuine love and affection it is priceless and God and Jesus paid the price and we all have unique gifts and talents that God gave us to give the world. I feel this song in my heart especially as my moma was a single mom and I lived in many different apartments with her. My dad also had Arab and Hispanic roommates to save the house and like I grew up in Catholic schools but in underprivileged single parent minority communities. That helped me to see the true life and see people as people, as human and children of God. I pray this song really touches many lives
