WEAR TEST NOTES: I could smell the floral fragrance lingering for a while! I don’t love when that happens, but it didn't last all night. When I looked at my makeup in natural lighting, I could see the difference in the finish of the two bronzers. By the end of the night, the finish looked pretty similar though. I do feel like the original looks more natural on my personal skin tone, but I' excited to keep using the matte version! The matte one seems to be slightly more pigmented. It's a bit more sunkissed looking, so i could see myself using it in summer :) hope that helps! xoxo

@@denial_4521 It would depend on the product. For brows, it can be 5-8 minutes long for sure. But for primers, foundations, etc., I can see those needing to be longer, especially if you're doing a wear test. :)

The flowers on the new packaging are Tahitian gardenias. Monoi is a perfume oil that is produced by soaking the petals of Tahitian gardenias in coconut oil. Doesn't that sound just heavenly? Murumuru butter is made from fruit fat found in murumuru nuts that come from palm trees in the Amazon basin so that is why the original butter bronzer smells more nutty while the new has a more floral scent.

I do like single product reviews, especially when it’s being compared to an old product. I found this review very helpful, especially the hand swatches to see the differences in color and tone.

I love their bronzer and blushes, but I would love it if the packaging were less bulky. Who uses the little brush? Yes, in depth product reviews are helpful, especially when comparing to similar products. The comparison swatches are very helpful. Thank you.

If u love their bronzer n blush you will love their highlighters I love them I reach for them more than any other ones that I have. I highly recommend them I’m shocked not alot of people talk about them
I love their travel butter bronzer because it’s small and compact, not taking up too much space in my makeup bag. I’m not sure what the shade range for that is, though. But you should check it out! No mirror, no brush, just a small compact for much cheaper.
I feel like they keep it so bulky so they can keep the price kind of high for drugstore 😬

My New Year’s resolution is not to buy any make up in 2021! I have a huge collection, thanks to all of the influencers that I watch religiously, and I’m going to spend the year going through my current collection. I can tell the difference between both bronzers, the new one looks softer and lighter in color but both look gorgeous!
Can you do a wear test? The matte one is supposedly long lasting, and as someone that puts my bronzer and blush on my bare skin (with no foundation) having something long lasting is really important
I think they both look nice but the side with the original looks darker to me. I like the matte version, it looks softer and more natural
That’s what I thought too. It also seemed a bit cooler which was a bit shocking when she did the swatches on the back of her hand.
Which is weird, because the swatches seemed to be the opposite! The matte was wayyyy warmer and darker looking. 🧐 I thought that the matte shade might have worked for me but after those swatches...def not.
they really couldn't expand the shade range of the original, but could formulate a whole new bronzer?! People with deeper skin tones deserve better :(
They did expand the original line in 2019 - several dark shades
Shannon Buttimer sorry there isn't anything for you- maybe you should try Fenty or other black owned brands.
They should have added additional shades with new matte bronzer as well. They could have done better but they made a choice not to. I personally have written and called corporate in the past for this issue since 2007. I am able to use the product without issues but I give gifts that include my favorite things. I like think I am performing a cheaper form of Oprah action. I can never include this in the basket. Each year the company misses 30 individual sales of this item.
And people with really fair tones! It is still way to warm toned and dark for the lightest shade

I really like this style of video. Knowing the difference between two very similar products with different formulas can be very helpful in deciding what is best to use for dry to normal skin vs. combo to oily skin.

The original butter bronzer is my every day go to. Its nostalgic for me cuz its literally the first bronzer I ever tried and fell in love with it. The scent is an added bonus. Loved this style of video as it's a more targeted way to review one production depth. Keep it up please!

I love love love that they released a matte version. Definitely interested. I got the little 3-pan butter bronzer palette from Ulta (3 shades of the regular butter bronzer) and it was SUCH good value for plenty of product. One of my fave new purchases. I'm sure this would be a nice compliment to those three shades when I want some more matte-ness in my look.

Cosmetics that are heavily scented can be a problem for people, they are for me. I think a matte finish looks more natural on the skin.
Totally agree! Fragrance is so unnecessary and excludes those of us who are sensitive to it.
My skins can’t handle fragrance in products but this bronzer works fine on my skin! It’s crazy

I've been wanting them to come out with a matte version of this for ages! I'm almost done with my current one and didn't want to repurchase because I have oily skin and I really don't like the sheen on the original even though I love the formula and shade. I can't wait to try out the new one though! I think it'll end up being a HG for me.
The All Star physicians formula palette has them both in it plus other bomb powders. Omg I love that palette.

I was very curious to see a review and know more about it cause in Italy physician formula doesn’t exist and until I will live in the USA (hopefully soon) I won’t be able to try most, if not any of the drugstore makeup, regardless being always updated on new makeup and knowing already the good prospects and the bad products 😅🤷🏻♀️ and being someone that had loved makeup and being a huge passionate for so many years.
