Absolutely adored this anime and it was definitely underrated when it came out.
Love the scene where Boji fights his dad. The animation for it was absolutely fantastic. WIT Studios definitely gave it the Levi vs Kenny Squad vibes.
Indeed, watched early on a pirated anime app and this had me tearing up and popping smiles as bright as the sun.

I was stunned by the blood, gore and dismemberment. The story is excellently written; they are so many warm touching moments, like as if it's been written by emotions itself. I've never been so moved by an animated film and I haven't seen it yet.

I'm sorry to nitpick here but you forget to mention in the first three minutes of the video that Bojji can read lips, that he understand that the kingdom mocks him, and that Kage was the first person to truly believe in him. It is one of the most important story points and you glossed over it.
Edit, you get the pronunciation of nearly every name wrong and strait up lie about how Ouken got his immortality, him and his brothers kill their evil dad who was ruler of the underworld which makes Ouken inherit his father's power unwillingly which ultimately makes him lose his mind.
Thank you for additional information. I personally like to go and watch the anime for extra info on some of these recaps. But my heart can't handle stories like this so I'm grateful you filled in the gaps.
Boji had to throw the initial fight with Daida. He had the potential to win, by dodging until an increasingly angry Daida tired himself out and finishing him off then, but this kind of fighting style did not speak of 'strength' in the eyes of the people (and they had spectators). In a world where 'asskicking equals authority' this would've done the opposite of improve Boji's rep, so Domas forced Boji to stop dodging and 'fight with the strength of a king.' But with no strength behind his blows, he got immediately curbstomped.
'd recommend you watch it anyways. There is a manga, but turns out it's a fair bit harsher.
This honestly wasn't a very good recap as a whole. A lot of incorrect information and oversimplifications, in addition to the large amount of mispronunciation. Though I also have doubts that this is actually a person speaking during this. It almost sounds more like some kind of text to voice program or something along those lines

I'm asian but just curious, isn't that how you pronounce it in english which makes it still correct? Just like how Japanese pronounce christian as "kerishitan", they don't pronounce it wrong, that's just how they pronounce it in Japanese.

I can relate a bit. I have a younger half brother who's more successful and more talented, And instead of feeling envious I'm proud. And despite his success he doesn't flaunt it or looks down on me.

I found out about this anime it’s first day of release and love it actually and it’s one of the few animes I can comfortably listen to in sub yes sub users are gonna destroy me for saying that but due to the lack of talking I can take in the full experience visually which is in my favor since I’ve always been a visual learner

It's pretty rare (realistically speaking) to see how beautifully this anime has shown the tough-love yet extremely emotional bonding between a step mother/queen and Bojji. She, from the bottom of her heart, would do anything to protect her Bojji, especially after the demise of his biological mother and father, and Bojji's path to greatness through hell.
Motherly instincts and nurturing inituition of women for a child, and any living being, is truly the greatest gift of God to our society.
Love Ousama ranking, Bojji is so precious. He deserved better in life! xD

@@darylloberes4760 i think it's more than that. Korea and Japan have REALLY bad blood between them. Korea won't even show anything Japanese on their Korean owned broadcasted channel and vice versa. They still hate each other from the war they had.

Everytime I think about Boji I keep thinking about that song.
The entire show is about looking at things through the scope of morality and humanity. Do we just condemn villains? Do we try to understand them? Do we forgive them? What about their victims? They longer have any voice. Who will be sad for the victims? Who will be angry for the victims? Should we seek Justice for the victims?
Bojji reminds me of Rimiru: “I will devour your crimes and carry your sins. If anyone objects they can seek their revenge with me.”
I think Bojji was a lot like Rimiru, except Bojji goes beyond, he has this air of beneficence, forgiveness and strength no one will have. Bojji is a very very good protagonist.
