he was struck in am emotional hell still loving the girl who reminded him of his father's death, not being able to hate her, but not being able to accept tje money and part ways with her either, his morals didnt allow him to love her, he wished she hadnt killed uis father every single day, so he put on a show that he hated her, coz he cudnt admit otherwise....his pride didnt allow that....he was wrong....but he was also just a kid who was sufferring...

love the summary dude this was also him becoming his old self before he became like his father. his ending is being a better human than his father. because he has let go all of those anguish feelings that he had

I was pleasantly surprised by this transformation. I didn't see it coming but I'm so glad it ended on a positive note. It allowed Ji An to move on in a way, otherwise she would have someone hunting for her all her life, wherever she went. Goodness begets goodness, sometimes.

@@pammir631 agreed, he wasn't right. he didnt know who to blame and how to channel his anger. and he is worth hating here for that...but the end.. he risked his everything to save her, he still loved her, he didnt want to part ways with her and he cudnt show affection to the girl who killed his father, so he tried to keep the debt going on forever, he wanted to be with her and was angry he still cared for her....if he had to he wud have died for her....but he was stupid enuf to punch her

Without that loanshark from hell, My Mister is a very nice kdrama.

i think it made the show more relatable for people who are poor because you dont take loans from loan shark if you have proper education and responsible parents

Don't excuse his bashing people for being misunderstood!!!

It's a pity that this show didn't have a much better ending..
Really is an excellent show but it's to sad and would have been so much better had at least Dong got together with IU or at the very least forgave his wife and tried to carry on with their marriage regardless of how hard it would be ??
Great acting by everyone in this show-especially IU!!
Even though there's very little that's not sad and miserable throughout the show I did enjoy it..
    4 star!!!

the two character is not in love. they love eachother and care for eachother because of how much they understand eachother and how much they've help eachother. even ji-an liking dong-hu is came from the fact that he is a good human being, is more of a admiration attraction than any romantic way. the whole serie is about the two healing eachother. is a perfect ending, they're both have never been happier in their life.
and the wife. after everything, it'll need more episode to develop into that 'forgiveness' and if they do that then the show would losse it's direction because the later episode would be mostly about him and his wife. how it end is more nature, and make scene. the wife always want the family to be just the three of them and dong-hu can't never do that. fogiving her won't solve every problem. certaintly not the ones they already have before. forgiveness doesn't mean start over. so, she leaving to live with her son is actually the best way to maintain the marrige. because she'll keep feeling guilt and he'll keep being remind of what happend, then it'll ultimately lead to divorce. the wife leaving also give dong-hu time to heal. that's part of the reason why he cried, he have time to actually process alone, to heal. then leaving the company, then end up looking happier.
and. ji-an and dong-hu will never love eachother in a romantic way because of the age gap, the two characters moral will never allow them to fall in love with someone who is 20yrs older/younger than them. their journy together has never shown to be in any romantic way. it is often some people will find someone who they care deeply and understand without being in love. and for them to see eachother at the end to be finaly happy is the best conclusion for them, as they long want that for eachother.
on top of that, IU (ji-an's actress) didn't want to be in the serie at first because of the age gap beteewn the two characters, but after the director went to her and explain it himself. she understand that is not a romantic story, it is about two character who lives miserable finds the good in eachother, understands eachother, finds healing from eachother and grown to feel and be better because of eachother.
the series, is about healing. things are complex, is not just black and white is also grey. the serie touches peoples heart, specialy the one who can relate. who has been through the similar or just simply has struggle enought. every characters is just written very humanly.

@@tnw51This is one of the best comments I have read about My Mister since I finished watching it a few days ago. Really, thank you. I sort of agree with you. I just want to add that the creators certainly played with a romantic angle just a bit. It's clear with the attempted kiss early on and Ji An constantly telling PDH that she liked him, but certainly I agree with your beautiful assessment otherwise.
It's not just a question of society but the two - especially PDH - are _products_ of Korean culture by which a relationship with a 20 year old gap isn't possible. Viewers have a different subjective interpretation. I certainly wished they would get together, but I just can't picture a hollywood-style 'in bed' ending with them, I just can't. The best thing about Friendship, in general, is that you can have a deep connection with an otherwise perfect stranger. A spouse, a girl/boy friend, a parent or sibling all have indirect well-meaning motives and ties of blood, but it is only the true friend who 'loves' us as a true stranger.
I feel enriched by this drama. I will certainly try to approach friendships with people differently now. It is easy to slide into selfishness.
