In today's video I was joined by the amazing fellow photographer Irene Rudnyk. She was kind enough to help me create this video, where I give you my top tips on How To pose People who are not models. I talk about how to make your subject more comfortable, how to make them look taller and what techniques to use when taking photos. hope you like!

The sound of the camera is so satisfying omg
True that.
Who wants those silent mirrorless cameras, heh!
ahahaha i thought the SAME!!!!
Kayla Knudsen I second that statement
Until I read your post, I would not have appreciated the same as after.
I like how the model becomes more confident throughout the video
wtf thx for the likes :o
@@mikaelanordin2767 she's more comfortable
The model is a photographer so she knows how to pose because she tells models how to pose.
That's how it's supposed to appear. She is photographed often, depsite being a photographer and "not a model". She shouldn't have said that honestly, because she has her photo taken more often than the average perosn.
She isn't a model :D
I love how she kind of motivates the model whenever she gets the right pose. She's always like : "beautiful. yes. amazing. "
I love that cause it really gives confidence to the model
exactly
Lol😂😂😂
No one:
Photographer: EXACTLY!
Ahahahaha trueeeee
why no one
Suddenly feel the urge to show this to all my friends so that they get in formation to take my pictures
Erica Andrea that’s so funny cus I just sent this to my best friend for the same reason😂
🤣🤣🤣
Ahahahah I sent to my husband 🤣🙌
To my husband who is terrible jajaja
Hahaha 🤣
My main problem is that my friends/family don't even give me time to pose!! They just freaking take the pic right away and it ends up looking awful lol.
Ugh, sounds annoying. I get that happening to me, but with my friends.
Please tell them, like say "hold on!" looking down, then pose, finally looking back at them with your good side.
Same, my husband is terrible with photos 😂
Tye B every family ever
Yeah like let me pose 🙄
My mom gets annoyed if I want a second take, after that I don’t have anybody to take photos of me :(
How to pose like a model
STEP 1 : be pretty
STEP 2 : have a friend who is a photographer
STEP 3 : repeat step 1 and 2 .
hahahahhahah
How to archive nothing
STEP 1 : focus on things outside of your control
STEP 2 : do nothing
STEP 3 : annoy me
iop erty hhahhaahha
Step 1 : be confident or aspire to be
Step 2 : have a friend who is a photographer
Step 3 : let his/her positive feedback bring you to camera confidence.
That's how it works in reality lol
the sad part is when you're always the photographer and when you want someone to do the same with u you find no one. that's when u feel unwanted, unloved and uninteristing.
The most useful part of this video was that your model/photographer had the exact same facial expression in ALL the shots, so there was no doubt about the fact that things looked better or worse because of posing - face was the same, so it had to be the rest, that was such a good way to go about it!
She’s a very pretty girl, but you made her look like a top model! Thanks for the tips, this is great!
For a non model, Irene killed those poses effortlessly
@@renelynfuentes7958 oh that makes sense. I think they didn't mention it in the intro, I have no idea who they are but really appreciate her posing style
What's her Instagram handle
Irene is a photographer, she knows the poses already because she's constantly directing models...
“Bit shorter than the average human 😂😂”
I FELT THAT! 5 ft and 20 years old over here 😭😭
Girl same it sucks.
I'm 4'11 😅
I'm 4.9 feet and 17😅
I actually don't find it funny at all, i felt hurt on her behalf.
How tall is Irene???
Point proven : you do not have to be a "model" to be a model... and strike all the right poses. Sure, Irene knows a thing or two about posing (via directing models), but all it takes is mutual understanding and care and awareness.
Great job Ladies !
Tip 1 :have a *photographer* friend who clicks beautiful pictures!!!
those poses doesn't matter if you don't have a good photographer 😂😂
😂and i m dead sure i m not gonna gett a good photographer anyway😥

oww that's true
am I the only one who was terrified of her standing next to a pool with her strapless camera omg hahaha great video tho!
Me too lol I always have anxiety on this kind of stuff I always wear a strap 😂
I just realized that and now I'm anxious
ME! specially when she crosses to the other path in the pool.. omg...
I like to live on the edge lol
Same. Anxiety
I have been watching Irene for several years, and her photographic talent is outstanding. While I photograph people, I was never a model, so I have to try and be intuitive about what I am asking of a model during the session. Irene gets a really fantastic chance to "be" the model, and she will feel better about posing them going forward. Excellent job Irene and Anita.
How to get a beautiful picture?
1. Get a photographer friend
2. Stick your thigh/leg and stand on your toes
3. Be photogenic
Hahaha true
Those tips were great indeed, but what about the people who don't look good in photographs, who are not photogenic?
evangeliamy it all about finding the most flattering angle and lighting for your face. Everyone’s face is different so just play around with different angles in the mirror or on your phone and see where you look best
something that I think always helps is to make sure to relax, especially relax the eyes!
Get plastic surgery.
Vane Y. 😞
Just smile and wave
Love the tips. Can you do the same tutorial on a person who is a lot larger, and who has no experience with either posing models or modelling???
Of course she could, but nobody would watch it.
You can follow the same instructions, still applies
The tips are about elongating the body more and highlighting curves, the results are not exactly the same but still gives the same illusion and you got to have confidence
@Jenna Lynn McFarland I can't stand the term plus sized. Let's call it what it is, fat. This person wants tips for photographing fat people.

That's so me!;
I wish i could pose for you, my self esteem would go to the sky with you saying "beautiful", "gorgeous"
Talking to and giving guidance to the model is SO HELPFUL
I love how instinctively the model knew what to do, she seemed so comfortable. And she’s very beautiful.
Especially her very feminin body
Irene is a photographer herself and she works with a lot of models so she’s probably very familiar with different poses. But I agree, she’s gorgeous!
Shes a photographer not a model. Lo dicen al principio
Denisse Rodríguez is she not allowed to be both? I’m clearly aware that she’s a photographer..
Tysm this is so helpful especially with the side by sides !!!!! I would love to see one for face posture or posing people who are not face models 🤣 do you have something like this in addition to the chin out and down or up???
yes good poses pictures. 😍👍😎💘

Hahaha... you're not alone.
Lolllllll😂
-tell your model constantly if they are posing good/bad and how they can improve
-don't tell them to smile, smile yourself or tell funny stories
Edit: wow thank you guys for over 100 likes I didn't expect that😘🤗
Best advises
- don't tell them ahead that if you want your model to look sad you mention dead cats. A person who used to be a friend and photograph me once told me. So when he mentioned dead cats during the shoot instead of looking sad I completely burst into laughter. Wasn't the desired effect yet still gave some very awesome pictures.
@@Iv1309 no, I don't do that =)) I will be angry and I would leave if someone told me about dead cats
I’ve got my first street photo shoot tomorrow, and this is really helping me prepare for it! Some really great tips and insights into what to expect! 🙌🏼 thank you
I'm not photogenic, but ur tutorial is very informative & enlightening.
Thanx 4 all the help & advice.
Bali seems like such a dream location to shoot in. Irene is a photographer’s dream to shoot. Anita creates the most dreamy images. OMG never wake me up 😭😭😭
Bet your photos of her would look just as awesome.
defo... two amazing photographers/model & one amazing place...
dont worry
lol i’m born in indonesia and practically lived here my whole life but only went bali for one time
Anita stand over water with no camera strap. I spend the whole time anxious!
Holding the camera with one hand and swinging it around above water is freaking me out
It is totally safe to do with a DSLR camera, because of cameras ergonomic grip.
No hope for us😂😂😂
She got that IRON GRIP!! She is one with her camera!!
Me too! My anxiety was going crazy
When I take photos of someone: telling jokes so they can have a natural laughing smile, posing their limbs, different angles
When someone takes a photo of me: ok 1,2,3... done
Hahaha same
Omg i love the way you encourage her by telling her "beautiful" and things like that!
There is a huge difference between how I think I’m posing and how I’m actually posing, especially the angle of my head! 💔
Without a mirror or a good photographer I can’t do anything with my poses...

Irene is an absolute beauty! Add her posing experience and she is the perfect model.
Somehow you made her look even better! Well done Anita!
So, 'responding' or 'reacting' to something (else) or having a 'prop' - Great stuff! Thank you.
I can’t believe nobody has said this yet but, THAT GIRL HAS BODY HUNNYYYY!!! BAH-DY!!!

and her face, she's photogenic! 🤩😍
@@erlyissma6757 Absolutely, rounded face and a straight nose bridge, I love those 👃

may I just add: *WHAT A* *FANTASTIC* *LOCATION* ! I want to live in such a house. I would never leave
was thinking exactly the same thing!
...and that pool, WHAT?!
Personally I think those candid smiley and a little awkward photos are more endearing than posed ones.
Naturally happy pics are so rare these days - bring back the smiles and the normality - even if it's not perfect. Xx
Yes, i've thought the same + people like this are looking ridiculous to rhe rest, all around in terraces, beaches... specially in sommer.
A lot of the smiles in photos are real, if not, they'd look -awkward-
@Sevda Laukkanen Yeah true I think this video is geared towards people who are trying to model, not everyday life pics capturing real moments
I’m trying to start modeling. This video is a life saver!!! So helpful so many tips and tricks. Thank you so much !
wow, Irene is not just a very good Photographer .. she’s a beautiful perfect model too
this is literally the most helpful model posing video ever.

Very interesting you referencing using the 28mm. I used a 28mm for a fashion and studio strobe course I took. My teacher was surprised when I told her I used a 28mm. The studio space/strobe area was quite small as we were partitioned. Thank you for mentioning. My use of the 28mm was partly intuitive, partly practical.
3:52 - these twenty seconds are GOLD. LOOOK AT THE TRANSFORMATION!
I love the way you said "lovely" and "beautiful"... 💜
This is hands down the best posing video I've seen, and I watched a whole lot of them. Expected no less of you 😂 thanks! 🙌😃
yes it is very simply explained
I agree
By the tenth minute my head went loose snd started posing with the model! Absolutely fantastic ideas! And comparison made it super clear and helpful! Thanks girls!
okay buit now the problem is: how to feel comfortable posing and feeling yourself in front on a camera. id feel like the person taking the pictures would be judging me the whole time so all my pictures turn out so awkward
Great video but can you make one that will increase my husbands common sense towards taking a great photo
What that means???

Really good, useful tips.
I'm a short girl myself, 1,60 m height, and I love photography from both sides of the lens. My partner loves taking shots of me and I love posing for him. He taught me certain tricks himself, as a passionate amateur photographer. But the ones you give here are absolutely great and it will help improve our photos even more!
Thank you!
I subscribed as well. Looking forward to discover more of your channel.
The before and after pictures really prove the point. These are great tips.
Hi great ideas. Could you do something for short plus size people as well
It would be very interesting, I shot plus size models but all poses didn't work like with other models
i love the model's dress! it fits her very well (btw i know she's a photographer herself) 👗

thanks I learned some tips. would like to see a complementary video for posing men, since some of the goals of the final image tend to be different (emphasizing structure and power vs. grace and curves)
Noah Hornberger Jeff Rojas is probably the go to KRplus photography channel for posing/lighting men
Such amazing explanations on job. Thank you! Love it. Great work and you made us all a favor.
Have to say not only is this helpful but it was so well explained and showed !!!! Stunning! Thanks girls!!
I love the way you communicate the techniques. How you relay the information is steady enough to absorb and not become overloaded with information. Thank you for sharing this video!
I would really to have an opportunity to do a photoshoot with a pro photographer just so I can find out my good angles, right poses and everything because so far I haven't really found anything 😅😅
Omggg she is so good and knowledgable she really knows what she’s talking about !
Wonderful tutorial.
I like how & what the photographer explained, and the model.
Not valid if the photographer just take picture without nice angle
Honestly.... What a great video. I actually learned so much. And of course her being so absolutely beautiful helps lol. Good job 👍
wow, this really speaks volumes about how impactful technique is! The subject has great figure, but the before and after is just night and day! thank you for sharing!

I always felt uncomfortable taking pictures and posing, not knowing what to do. Thank you soooo much for the tips! ❤
I love when photographers help guide you!! All this talking and positive affirmation makes such a difference, model or not.
I'm selective of who I ask to take a picture of me. Obviously depending on what its for. If people dont know angles, lighting etc then whats the point😭😭
Soooo great tips but can we get a male version of this?? I don’t have many dresses.... lol
