Man, this song is really, really morbid. It's about a a female news anchor, Christine Chubbuck, who was the first person to commit suicide on live television, in 1974, apparently because she couldn't find love.
I don’t think it’s about that. her lyrics seem like a whole story of its own while the visuals take on inspiration from the tragic incident you mention.
@@cris_here I mean think about it, "You make me want to 1974 live." What did Christine Chubbuck do in 1974, on live TV? Why did she do it? It's basically a poetic way of saying you make me want to kill myself because of unrequited love--the same reason Chubbuck did it for. Pretty morbid if you ask me.

Yeah it's a great melody, but lyrically...not great. "I miss you so much I want to shoot myself in the face."...while referencing an actual suicide....that's a hard message to convey without sounding really tacky.

when i first listened to devita i thought she was pretty ok and seemed like she had potential but was still somewhat unpolished. Listening to her more, I started to notice how soothing, smooth, and pleasing her voice is. I'm excited to see her try different styles and genres, do more collaborations, and think she will become an aomg staple just like hoody (although she is quite different from hoody ofc :)

I love this even more than the Spotify track version. DeVita's voice is just magical. I'm glad I got Bonny & Clyde on my KRplus recommendations and discovered this gem of an artist. Such a great loss for me for sleeping on her for all these years
