My best girl friend showed me this Korean song a week back. I like her a lot but it’s hard for me to tell her, so I decided to learn how to play this on guitar and started singing the melody to her. I have a theory, she probably has dementia. There are studies that people with dementia tend to forget recent happenings earlier than older ones. And since she's reverting to her really old memories then she's probably near the end stages of dementia and he's still there to take care of her. It's such a sad and sweet scenario now that I think that it's rare to actually see couples literally grow old together and yet there they are, still taking care of each other.
Edit: notice how the time in the beginning starts from a more recent date to an older one? Yeah. That's it.

CRYING bc this comment is so true! I've worked as a care taker in both a senior living/rehabilitation facility and senior retirement homes. I've had my fair share of working with those who have dementia and they would sometimes revert to their childhood, adolescent or young adult years as well as the behaviors appropriate to those ages. In the MV I don't think she's reminiscing but more of like she has forgotten her real age, believes she is still and living young while her hubby is dancing and doing things she loves to make her happy (wanting to fix his collar, asking for hugs, dancing).
A dead giveaway she has dementia/alzheimer's is when the guy is worried looking for her but finds her sleeping on chairs in a public setting - most people who have this disease often have confusions in time and place, wander off and get lost and are then found in random settings. The director of this MV did their homework on it and portrayed it well. The fact that she and her hubby remember how to waltz and slow dance despite her losing her explicit memories shows that her implicit/procedural automatic memory is still intact... 😭😭😭

That's why it glimpses them young and old yet they act the same as if they have fallen in love all over again. "My only love," since their love for each other has never changed.

Seeing the comments about how the lady has a dementia makes sense but after watching it for how many times, I think the lover (man) died at their younger years. Notice at the end scene where the lady is at the present time and she is old while the lover is still at his younger self means he died at that age especially the last line says "I stay where your calendar stopped" explains that the lady sees their past and possible future of them growing old together if only the lover did not die. That is why there are scenes that shows their young and old selves. Also, at the beginning where the guy heard whatever the doctor's diagnosis made him look anxious for the first half of the video while staring fondly at his lover. Maybe because he fears that he might not be able to live longer and leave his lover. This song is amazing lee hi, and the music video was made beautifully and executed well by lee je hoon and won jin a, by far my fave song this year

Love this song & the story telling of the MV! Brought me to tears because of how it touched my heart!
It appears the female character has dementia & is currently hospitalized for how progressive her cognitive functioning is (i.e. forgetfulness, wandering around, memory loss), while her loving husband continues to visit her there as often as he can. We are seeing the woman's perspective in this MV & I believe her mind thinks she's back in her 20s, hence why we are seeing the younger couple throughout the video. The core memory she has for this period in her life is the dance she is doing with her husband & that is why she's always practicing those steps. The husband sees her little notebook which marks that special day for their dance & practices the steps as well to make her happy and have her "dreams come true" like the song reflects.
I think at @5:15 where you see the subtle change in the husband's expression is where I personally wanted to bawl my eyes out. I think the actor did a great job portraying so many emotions in just one subtle glance. What touches my heart the most is seeing that undying love the man has for his wife, and although there will be pain felt in knowing your loved one is slowly losing their memories, he wants to "stay where her calendar stopped" and that is beautiful!

@@iz_cool so it starts with a girl dancing .....so from what I understood from this video's story is that the boy gets to know his girlfriend's situation and is sad about that but the girl still has some cheerfulness in her and she has a dream(?) for dancing with the male character so she is practicing and she also writes something in her nb and her boyfriend (?) reads that and starts planning to have a dance with her and after some time they do dance ...the story also portrays how they both stayed together just like they did in their 20s or 30s and also have the same habit of correcting the male's collar and their affection stays the same even after he found out about the girl's condition and still stayed with her ....

@@aliensprstr9595 i beg to disagree. maybe what you call "flopping" is just the mere fact that aomg cannot compare with yg's marketing in terms of song releases. but lee hi has been very vocal about being happy in terms of singing, performing, and just putting music out in the world. yg is great in terms of artist percentage in events, overseas concerts, and physical albums. it's also great in marketing as they are part of the the OG big 3 so they can easily bring music to mainstream media & make it boom. BUT, yg has been notorious in how they handle artists & the comebacks are always dragged out for long. in aomg, our hayi is able to sing and perform as much as she wants. she's been collaborating with other aomg artists since last yr. aomg might need to up their marketing game but as long as hayi is happy and code kunst is there to support her, we're here to back her up as always ♡♡♡
