The fact that this is a tomato plantation means that this is an inhabited place, not wild. It is, therefore, mind-blogging to see that snake in a tomato garden frequented by people.
It's even more amazing that the peacocks roaming around haven't predated on the snake, as they eat snakes, and saved some chicks. This is how nature works, it is a harsh reality, but it is a part of the food chain. It's unlikely the chicks survived for long unless their parents found them and kept them near, their flight feathers are nowhere near developed enough to fly properly, if at all, and unless they can walk around properly and find suitable hiding spots their parents would have had a very hard time raising them so that they would survive.

As soon as a chick eats, the fecal sack comes immediately after in most cases. The parents either eats with it, or fly away with it. With only a Chile of babies it seems easier to tell which chick was fed, but I've seen videos with 4+ babies and the parents will feed a couple babies several times before getting more food for the others. Even then sometimes the other chicks still gets overlooked alot. Sad. 😩

Did you notice that whenever the parent brings in food they first stick it inside their chicks' throats to see whose craw is empty or full and decides to give it to the offspring whose crop/craw is empty. The moment the chick swallows the food it will excrete its feces which the parent bird will readily eat. A treat for a treat...

Omg how terribly sad, my heart was breaking for that baby bird, I cannot understand why the Eagle or hawk didn't eat something else rather than another bird of a different species. Nature is so cruel & humans don't have to be, but many are & so the world will always be a sad place as it always has been. no, they just randomly give their catch to any chick begging for food. If a chick isn't begging then it is not going to get fed. General rule, parents, by instinct favors the healthiest chick.

As soon as a chick eats, the fecal sack comes immediately after in most cases. The parents either eats with it, or fly away with it. With only a Chile of babies it seems easier to tell which chick was fed, but I've seen videos with 4+ babies and the parents will feed a couple babies several times before getting more food for the others. Even then sometimes the other chicks still gets overlooked alot. Sad. 😩

Actually no. After a a long and dramatic divorce proceding the mother is now suing in seemingly unending litigation, for child support of the two remaning siblings . Yet the father is disputing these claims pending a court ordered DNA test. Somehow a third party , only known as "Mr. Snake" has been dragged into this mess as the fathers only testifying witness to her infidelity. So I here....

Did you notice that whenever the parent brings in food they first stick it inside their chicks' throats to see whose craw is empty or full and decides to give it to the offspring whose crop/craw is empty. The moment the chick swallows the food it will excrete its feces which the parent bird will readily eat. A treat for a treat...
