- To clear up some misunderstandings regarding demonic activity, Fr. Mark-Mary offers a short crash course on the matter. There are four main kinds of demonic activity:
Temptation: when the devil subtly invites a soul to sin
Infestation: when there is demonic activity in a place
Oppression: when demonic activity starts outside the soul and enters within
Possession: when the demonic directly enters one’s internal will and intellect
This video does not go into detail about demonic activity, but simply aims to contextualize it, and show how the demonic confirms that the Catholic Faith is the true Faith.
Since an exorcist regularly visits his friary to confirm and strengthen the faith of the friars, Fr. Mark-Mary has witnessed demonic activity. He says it’s nothing to worry about if you just know who you are and who God is. If you live in that reality and remain in the state of grace, the demonic cannot have power over you.
Throughout the New Testament and the history of the Church, we see Christ and the saints fighting against the demonic. St. Therese, St. Padre Pio, and St. John Vianney encountered evil spirits quite a bit.
Acknowledging the reality of the demonic-and seeing how demons respond to the name of Jesus and Mary, to holy water and miraculous medals-can help our faith, but we can also become inordinately interested in it. So we can talk about demonic possession, but let’s not emphasize it.
After all, the devil’s most destructive work is done in the dark, through subtle temptations, through secret invitations to lust and the other deadly sins. Defeat these temptations by just saying no, and asking God to deliver you from temptation. Ask Mary and St. Michael the Archangel to help you, frequent the sacraments, trust in God’s grace, and demons will be powerless in your life.

Today everyone are getting into them, it kinda became a trend and it scares me how many people are being controled by the devil... Me too. I grew up catholic but this new age pulled me away. I noticed I was getting mad when anyone was talking about church. Those demons! I also had weird things happen like to tv turning on and weird sounds out of nowhere. That’s so demonic! I feel so horrible for allowing myself to go the new age route. Thank lord that I watched new age to Jesus videos.

As a “cradle catholic” I used to hear about the good angel and bad angel on our shoulders and didn’t think it was real. Fast forward to adulthood and growing in the faith in the last couple years, spiritual warfare is definitely real! Everyday I’m learning to put on the Armor of God, Ephesians 6:10-17, and definitely reading and learning about scripture, the word of God, to help me in this battle between good and evil! It is very very difficult my brother. But through prayer fasting gods love and grace through faith in Jesus. You will make it. I promise.
The answer lies solely in this bro. You must do the rosary IN combination with mental prayer. 15-20 mins of rosary with 15 mins of mental prayer every day will get you extremely far. Try that out. Once you get there. The whole goal is to eventually do it 365 days a year.I had weeks where I did 3 days a week and I was free from it for a good time. But eventually I fell back into it. When I did it 6 or 7 days, it worked really well for ~ 2-3 months.

I will pray for your recovery. These things aren't easy. But, I tend to think that whichever is "more addicting" depends on the individual. For example, I easily quit masturbation and pornography, which I had done most days since I hit puberty (by 5th grade; I believe I hit puberty a little early), quite easily. Yet, I have been drinking 2 or 3 years and I haven't been able to stop. I don't drink a lot at a time, but I do everyday, and I am having a very hard time stopping. I believe it depends on the individual, as I previously stated.

This is a crazy story but... I come from a non-Catholic background. The first time I prayed the rosary was in response to a sense of being under attack by darkness. To my surprise, as soon as I began to pray the rosary I could *hear* the enemy scream in rage and torment. Oh they did NOT like that. I've been praying the rosary 3 times a day ever since.

I am a former Catholic who went sola scriptura (devout Christian - definitely not Protestant), BUT am now returning home to the Catholic Church! I prayed the rosary for the first time a few days ago and it changed everything for the better. Prior to this, I became “born again” in 2020. Despite my unconditional love for Jesus, my daily prayers, repentant heart, fasting, denying self and picking up my cross etc., all of which are good things, I now understand why our Holy Mother is very important! Praise God for opening my eyes and humbling my prideful heart! 🙏🏼✝️🕊️

This, too, is the case for Protestant churches who have their own issues (e.g., doctrine, scandal). Pray for wisdom & discernment, and eyes to see. Once I started doing that, I started seeing a bigger picture. I started noticing that when I’d be gossiping or fussing about someone else, something similar that I do or have done would immediately come to mind. Then it progressed to me having a broader understanding of what others might be going through. And I’d have moments when I’d be doing something that was frustrating to someone else and I’d hear this voice going, “See, this is what Jane Doe was going through when you were talking about her. You just didn’t know it.” Everybody wants mercy but few offer it. I try to remember that.

Beautiful advice. An exorcist once said that people should be more terrified of temptation than possession because a possesed person cannot commit mortal sin as they have no free will. Falling into temptation however, can be our ruin. Be good and pray unceasingly. Love you all🙏🏾

Meaning if there is a moral sin committed, you are not responsible for it because you are not choosing to do it only being forced through possession or obsession. Such as suicide
In most cases a possessed person HAS committed mortal sin or is not in a state of Grace which is what facilitated the possession. You cannot become possessed if you are truly remaining in a state of Grace (there are extremely rare cases of saints and victim souls who did become possessed in obedience to God’s will to obtain great graces for the Church and poor souls).
Jesus was tempted and lead into temptation by the Holy Spirit....Giving in to temptation is the problem, even then we give Glory to God by repentance,.
I am struggling with addiction right now and demons are trying to take over me. Please pray for me that I defeat this stupid addiction. I want to live again.

I've had demonic attacks before. As soon as I came home after confirmation classes, my ex immediately texted me and this happened straight after I got home from church, and my ex hasn't spoken to me for so long. When my ex texted me, he was suggesting we would do sexual acts. Whenever I'm serious about my faith, I experience spiritual warfare and unwanted thoughts, I get blasphemous, horrible thoughts that are unintentional and compulsive and I hate it so much. EVERY time I get closer to God and try to obey his word and turn from my sins, suddenly more guys are trying to get with me, and it ALWAYS happens when my faith is stronger. There is no doubt that demons are setting up a trap for me. I'm still struggling right now with demonic attacks, and temptation coming from demons.

One Christian (non-Catholic) female blogger/writer/speaker I follow is a former porn addict. I'm not a former porn addict, but I really enjoy her perspectives because I've found her principles extremely helpful in facing all sorts of sins, temptations and issues with your own self-image. She released a piece awhile ago about what to do when sexual or pornographic images are stuck in your head after you've repented and cut off the activity. First, she acknowledges to God that she doesn't want to dwell on this, she regrets it, and she never ever wants to do anything like it again. She also brought in the fact that regardless of spiritual influence-good or bad-your brain is a machine that adapts to the habits and decisions that you've made. It's a learned behavior, and a behavior is especially going to stick in your brain if it's associated with pleasure. Demons tempt you, but your brain is NOT a demon. God designed it, and it's designed to remember, facilitate and circulate whatever it's exposed to. Her approach to facing these memories or temptations when they arise is to remember these facts. The brain says "I need to feel good, so let's do ________________," and if the fill-in-the-blank is sinful, the response is "We could, but we'll go here (something good and/or holy) instead, because this will be better for us in the long run, and it will be what honors God." I found it the perfect balance between staying grounded and giving reverence to God. Thanks, Father Mark!

@Mike Cranston You're right. Sex isnt intrinsically evil, but it can be used wrongly and for evil. Just like using drugs. Used in the way it was intended and for the right purpose, drugs can help you, but if abused they will damage you and can even kill you.
I use the Jesus prayer: Lord Jesus, have mercy on me a sinner. It is simple, direct , and can be easily repeated. I use it at night when my thoughts are wandering. Thank you.

Archangel Migel I have heard that but I don’t recall when I learned this prayer. I have been using it for decades. I believe that I once even used it while I was asleep and my dreams began heading to a dark place. Prayer is powerful. Prayer repeated over many years is stronger than steel.
The good thing is, you can pray it all day long, not only when you are in bed. I use a catholic prayer bead when I pray the Jesus prayer. It's said, it burns all demons, who try to approach you.
One never realizes how real demons truly are until he/she experiences possession. It's horrible.

@Rib_Guy_101 Possesion - you feel it in your body and it simulates mental illness, moves with your body etc. You can smell sulfur or unpleasant odours, you hear voices, see things (like shizophrenia).As it enters first, you feel pressure in your/going trought your organs and as you close your eyes, you can see this entity - it usually says something to you and than begins the battle. But the worst thing is it wants kill your soul....why it comes? Because of sin..I opened my chackra's, did yoga, believed some new age theories...see testimonies from new age to Jesus here in yt.

When it happened to me I did not know that opening chackra's is dangerous, I did not believed in God and I had no real concept between good and bad/evil or what is sin. One day the demon was next wall in my room. I was paralysed that I see this and felt the pure hate towards me. I was thinking that it will attack me and in this second it happened - do you mean this? That I was "weak" in my mind and I did not prayed or commanded it to leave in Jesus name? I did not know nothing about. At that time I was involved in joga, chackra's, horoscopes, tarot and numerology - and this is sinfull. So I thing that this practise (sin) means that you open yourself to it and the enemy begins messing with you. Before possesion I was oppressed (thoughts), possesion is more dangerous. I think that God allowed to happen to me and that je uses my sins to show me the truth because I identified myself as truthseeker (numerology number 7)...and he used everything I know to help me out. But the demon was out after months of prayers, I gained faith in Jesus thought reading bible = hearing the good news. God can change everything what happens to you for your own good.
I am not catholic...I confessed Jesus directly - it was recomended in a prayer. But you have to confess everything you did. I remember I was thinking I could not anymore and I was literally crying and asking for help as "if Jesus helped people in evangelium, he can help me too"...than I confessed once again and prayed together with a pastor (deliverance prayer on-line)...I would like to say it was in the beginning and I did not have a religious background. So, did you confess everything? Are you sincerelly sorry for everything you did? Do you have faith in Jesus? I think catholic have described way how to pray for forgivenes too.👍 So I would recommend to pray to our savior every day, humble yourself and every day ask for deliverance...sometimes it took time.

I used to practice necromancy and was a medium for many years. I became physically possessed in the final week of my practice. The name of Jesus Jesus Christ arrested the wicked spirits and it was His name that closed the doors that I had opened. Demons are very real and Jesus saved me.

@@okamiartifex8813I don't know the answer, but I believe that mental illnesses may be due to satan attacking, although it can also be a chemical imbalance due to our defective bodies. However, I do have a lot of dreams and sleep paralysis of the devil attacking me. I recommend you go to a healing prayer at your church. I have been going and my mental illnesses are improving. I'll pray for you as well. I also recommend seeing a mental health provider, God uses people.

I understand you, about a year ago I thought I heard my mom calling my name repeatedly while I was at Ross and when I called her to ask where she was she said she was still in the car with my dad. @@anele5696 That was the first time I heard my name from what seemed like a distance but there was another occasion where I was home in my bed and I think I started drifting off and heard a voice in my ear as if it was speaking down a tunnel. Can’t completely take my word for it because this was years ago, but it was never anything threatening just abnormal.

Believe me when I say that I was “possessed “ by The Enemy “ during my active drug addiction. Been clean now for six years; thank you, Jesus! Oh, possession is real, alright...just ask any drug addict or alcoholic.
I always believed that was true in many cases, and I can physically sense a person with a demon, even if it's not obvious to others. I pray the prayer to Saint Michael. I found that if you try to talk to an alcoholic or drug addict about this, or point out how evil their behavior is, they will deny being possessed. I tell them that the truth is being hidden from them and they need to order whatever evil is inside them to leave. They're weak. I know a man, a life long alcoholic and drug user, who is ill and not expected to live more than a few months. We're all trying to get him to confess his sins and accept Christ. He hints at it but won't say he will. Whatever has hold of him is stronger than he is. We pray for him.
That's oppression and or obsession like he mentioned others besides possession. Bc it's more like diabolical influence which is very real and I guess worse in a way bc it is not spiritually obvious like possession

I haven't smoked since the 2nd of October 2020. I tried quitting for years. This just happened. I felt slight temptation yesterday but it was easy to deny it and I removed myself from the triggering situation. I believe God and my guardian angel are helping me. Thank you 🙏

He is not special because he's a priest, I see you all are Catholics and not Christian(from my understanding) well being a Christian means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, a slave. But it's also a royal priesthood so as a disciple one is already a priest and able and allowed to babtize and so on.
We were once very privileged to receive the Relics of St Therese of Lisieux into our Parish. My son was very young, about 6 years old. He went to a Catholic school and this Parish was on the premises. We stopped in on the way to school to say a quick prayer and I was telling him about this Saint. Someone called him up onto the Altar, gave him a rose which had been placed on the Relics and told him to give it to me and tell me that St Therese will bless me. I had never met this person before. I placed this rose on the front seat of my car where it remained all day. When leaving work I was reversing out of the driveway and saw a black shadow standing at the corner of the office block, when my car came near, it showed fear and fled. It was a spirit shadow, not in the form of a person. I felt it’s fear, yet my peace and a confidence, if you will, at the same time. I had this knowing in my mind that it fled because of the rose. I had no experience with demons before. I was not educated in their workings or what they could do to you, other than the small amount we are exposed to in the general practices of our Faith, but when this happened, I just knew what it was, what I saw and what had just happened. I worked for a Jewish lawyer at that time and I know his mother, who visited the office frequently, used to call on a fortune teller. I thought I would share this story for interest sake. Even when we are unaware, things may happen to us but look how our Lord blessed me and I am merely an ordinary Catholic, not a nun or anything like that. I encourage everyone to put on the Armour of God every day. Ephesians 6:11-17.
My family members are like possessed I think. Every time I pray, read Bible, or annoint my home with oil, they start harassing me (accusing, bothering, name-calling, calling me bad words, shouting etc.)…I hope I can get through this. I don’t have anywhere else to live and homelessness where I live is dangerous. Really sick of their hatred towards the things of God I’m trying to engage or grow in. They say they are “Christians”, but what they are doing to me is far from it 😂😭😔

I’m having a really difficult time with my family (Mother, sister etc) - my father took his life in 2014 and things continue to spiral with my family so much that it has driven me just deeper into prayer, deeper into church - the only true family I have is God, Jesus, Mother Mary, and the Holy Spirit. If I try talking with them - like you described attacks happen, voices change - it’s so hard. I used to be sensitive, it was inherited. (uncontrolably seeing future, seeing bad spirit in form of black smoke)
I undergone closing of occult 3rd eye, prayed over by a catholic deliverance priest. He is not an exorcist.
The session we had is called minor deliverance session in 2015. From then own, I am not sensitive anymore to spiritual realm.
Preparations before session:
-if you can, daily mass
-confessions every 2 weeks
- pray rosary daily
- forgive people, be generous (give food to strangers)
- remove occult beliefs ( horoscope), concept of luck ( lucky colors etc)
- remove all occult stuff ( tarot cards, crystals)
- frequent adoration chapel visit

Yes they are. I am set up by them frequently. I can always tell. They use their own people against you and it only seems to last for part of a day but can really be rough. Prayer is the only hope. Many people do not realize that they are pawns to act out in a malicous manner toward a child of God. They exhibit hate that they do not know comes from the demonic side. I really feel pity for these lost souls being used as vessels of hate for satans work. They do not even know where their feelings of hate even spring from.

Some one in my family spoke some words to me that I felt against myself and it really made me feel depressed for someone to say something I was feeling about myself.
Then I got so depressed but got so sick of it and had to confess it and suddenly I was inspired to start using my creativity that I’ve been not using. Started painting again and for some crazy reason I couldn’t get myself to sttart until that day of confessing .

I went through most of my life without any exposure to the supernatural (other than God), and then a couple of years ago I moved into a building that was demon haunted. I am ashamed to say that I freaked out. Of course immediately I turned to God and prayed, but I was scared. And it was not just me. I was hearing very very disturbing things but other people in the same building were SEEING things. I always asked God to protect me from seeing anything, and I never did. But whatever was there decided to mess with me, and finally I went to my pastor and he calmly reminded me that this was nothing new, that Jesus encountered and expelled demons all the time, and that I could do the same using His name. That's what I did, and the demons fled. Later I learned that decades ago, there was a group of tenants who had a seance and conjured up a demon and ever since people have been witnessing all kinds of evil in that place. Even though the attacks ended for me, they did not for others, and I'm not going to lie: I was happy to leave that place. Just remember that Jesus' name is literally a weapon. You can use it to defend yourself.
@Robert Paulson Definitely I do. I used to have those as a teenager and they felt demonic, but I never saw or heard anything, just that terrifying paralysis. My doctor told me it was some kind of brain misfire, some sort of weird state between dreaming and consciousness but... I never really believed it. But I didn't go to medical school. What happened in that place though was DEFINITELY evil and monstrous and terrifying. What was funny was nobody wanted to be the first to bring it up because they--and I--didn't want to seem crazy. There is a book waiting to be written, but I'm not ready yet.
@Robert Paulson I spoke to a couple of teenagers in that place, and they both described seeing shadow people. And none of the many children would ever go anywhere alone. They always had to be in packs of at least 3 or they would freak out.
We had the same thing happen. Moved into a nice apt. Than one night the bedroom was black on black you could see a black cloud sooo black you couldn’t miss it. There was also a presence of evil! You could feel it!!
My parents came over and the four of us who are all born again believers prayed over this room, but I just didn’t feel like it had left. We went to bed that night and I was asleep, all of a sudden my husband jumped up in bed and I said what’s wrong? He hadn’t been asleep so he wasn’t dreaming, he looked terrified as he stared at the closet door beside him. He said I was laying here and all of a sudden I saw this glowing hand coming out of the closet moving towards our bed. I was too scared to look, but it scared the life out of him and me when he told me. Then it disappeared and never returned that we saw. Eventually the black cloud hanging near the ceiling coming down to the middle of the room disappeared too. That was definitely a demonic force. It was so scarey and it scared us real bad. To this day I keep my closet door closed.
I promise you on my dear grandmothers grave this is not a lie or a dream or an exaggeration it really happened!! We moved out of there as quickly as we could. 😳

Your story gives me hope. Its similar to what is happening to me now but I feel embarrassed because people can make you think you're crazy. I have been to see the doctor as well and ended up with medication which I know is not the solution but didn't want it to look like I am refusing help. I know there's something in this house.

Thank You Father. You explanation was spot on. When I knew the demonic had a strong hold on me, I prayed The Psalms and accepted The Christ. Afterwards I fell asleep and felt something leave me in a dream and woke myself up screaming in terror but I knew that I had prayed the demon away. I tell friends now to pray those Psalms when I believe the demonic has a hold on them. The battle is very real just like you said. Thanks again.
Mike what are those Psalms? I am under high level spiritual attack from them right now. It even seems to be inside the body. It's a daily battle sometimes couple times per day. I pray decades of the Rosary as only thing that gives a brief reprieve. I believe the Eucharist although it causes me nausea or physical discomfort to receive due to the spiritual attacks also gives me strength from God and a little peace. I seem to have opened portals so been recommended home blessing but think might take something stronger than that from specialist priest to break free. But I also know I need to find out God's will as Fr Ripperger says that God has authority over all spirits and it can't happen to us unless he gives it permissive will. Perhaps it's to test and purify us? But only priests have power given to them by God to deliver us from these evil spirits as Fr Ripperger exorcist priest says.

The Demon is like a gorgon, they attract attention to themselves to detract you from God. You got shaken, and you lose sight from reality.
The remedy is to Focus on the light. And to readjust whenever we are detracted.
Their end game is to make the oppressed and the possessed to commit suicide in a mortal sin by inciting blasphemy beforehand.

A demon manifested in my house this week. I'd seen it before in my 30s when I ran a tarot-reading TV channel. But incorrectly believed it had gone. Reflecting I now see how my home & life has become dominated by argument, anger & discord. I've spent the past two days removing every object from my home which is against God & praying my head off.

A little bit of reading would have told you about 'terrors of the night', why people experience fear, demonic attacks at night, or sleep paralysis which has been associated with demonic activity.. demons may also mk suggestions while a person is asleep, similar to principles applied in hypnosis... The scope of this discussion is vast and requires another forum and of course, well read and well researched material.. and anointing ourselves with the precious blood of our Lord is good all the time..

In the dream I was telling the demon that Jesus was going to send him back to where he came from. I also started saying the Lord’s Prayer in this dream the demon backed off but then I felt my mattress being dragged in the dream. I yelled no n then woke up.. terrible but I know Jesus woke me up . Father, when you said you grabbed your Rosary and started praying during the exorcism your fellow priest was performing, I had visions of a soldier grabbing his weapon and running toward a battle his comrades were engaged in-just like you grabbed your weapon-the mighty Rosary!

Thanks this confirmed alot about what I've been going thru. It's true when I was near total possession anytime I heard Mother Mary's songs or words or her image I would feel sudden rage and feel like cussing at her.
I've been waiting to watch this but felt stronger now. I messed around with this whole new age movement (tarots, crystals, calling God the universe) and I think that's what provoked this. They said it calling in ur "spirit guides" ...now I know they're not "spirit guides."

I worked in a demonically oppressed building. The evil was palpable in one hallway. Other Christians were complaining they felt an evil, demonic presence. In that hallway, I saw demons twice. I prayed to Little Rose Holy Child of God to intercede for to Jesus for a new job. I have a new. I feel no evil in the building. I see no demons.
I love that I’m sitting in a Byzantine Catholic chapel called St Michael the Archangel as I watch this.
I have had multiples encounters with the demonic over the years, even recently, and I try and always begin my day with prayer, so as to promptly dedicate the day to God, in particular by praying the St Michael the Archangel prayer.
My attitude is that I am beginning my day with spiritual warfare!

Why are is it always the Christians who gets possessed. It's never people who don't believe in this nonsense. If you're hearing voices and seeing things, go see a psychiatrist. Don't rationalize it as something written in an ancient book by authors who knew nothing about how the world works.

@@GuadalupePicasso research? I'm a mental health patient myself. Extensive research into my own condition and mental health in general. I've been seeing psychiatrist for therapy for the last 14 years. Coming in contact with other mental health patients frequently at the doctor's or mental hospitals counts as experience, not just research. The correct therapy and meds will help the patient recover or manage their disorder. Praying to a non existent god and telling patients it's demons will surely worsen their condition because you're pushing them into delusion.

Great, great video 👏🏼 I started watching it last week... but I really needed to hear it THIS week! I went to confession on Tuesday and Father basically said, “just be my daughter”. The reoccurring message for me this week... is “know who you are” = just be. When life beats you up so bad, you’re left so scarred it’s hard to know your value and worth. Thank you for talking about that i had to learn a lot to free myself from demons that i got from drug addiction. I was an atheist for 28 years and the devil led me down every wrong spiritual way (hinduism, yoga, meditation, the occult) until i discovered Christ... I think the apostle Paul said it best, that it is often difficult to accept Jesus for people because of the simplicity of the gospel. That's what led me down all the wrong ways until i cried out to Jesus and he came to me with an angel in form of a white cloud. And back then I have never read the conversion of Saul.... But the same thing happened to me...
I did the same thing went through all the counterfeit religions before I went back to the Lord Jesus Christ stay blessed brother
@@paulbirkbeck1790 and the funny thing is that I read the "conversion of Saul" just recently where the same thing happens to Paul. I was really shocked when I read that. He was inside of a cloud of white light (I called it a fog but still...) which took away the pain and then I heard an audible voice from outside of my head not like in meditation talk to me and while he talked to me I saw an angel standing in my room. That was on the 29th of November 2014.... I made 1 video about it its called "my Christian Testimony"
