When you think that this was 5 years ago. It's like yesterday.
True and the last Rafa and Federer GS final
@@martydav9475 can't rule out possibilities of a Fedal Final atleast for the next 2 years
I can still hear the grunt-moans
I literally thought the same
Love how they have the same outifit
That backhand from Federer changed the rally
I thought it was at the inside out forehand
It was the forehand. You can clearly see Fed hit three forehands to the get Rafa further and further off the court and then he pulls the trigger with the FH down the line.
@@luisalejandro2335 it was the backhand before that shakes nadal stability..
Ur all wrong lmao
Rafa hit cross court and gave Fed a huge angle to work with. Not sure why heβd think that was a good tactical shot but heβs elite and Iβm not so I guess he had a reason.
You can see Rogersβ triumphant look but I also see his mind thinking, am I playing a machine?
I'm sure by this point he knew who and what he was playing against π
@@roger22fed Appunto
He's thinking that if he's playing a machine.... he can still hack it
Nadal the fantastic
@@roger22fed we are looking at two of the greatest doing things that mere mortals have trouble comprehending. And yes, youβre right. Roger knew he was playing a man his equal or better depending on the shot, the hour the tournament. Shalom
Bro, Federer's second backhand at the halfway point in this clip was VICIOUS!
These two revived the game of Tennis and made it a global sport. People all over the world started watching Tennis because of these TWO. Many players have come after, even some of the greats, but they have all basked under the Sun ignited by the passion of these TWO. If anyone denies that, then I am their dad.
Just say the name " Djokovic "π₯ directly without going around the bush.

β@@marvinzuber1995I'll never forget that year 2017...
The live commentator!
This was a great match. I love the Federerβs backhand in this match
I still believe that one of the major flaws of Federer was his backhand inconsistency. If he gets it right, he is unbeatable.
not only that but the 3 half volley in row
I donβt think this was a great match. A good one nevertheless. Two old men coming back from varying degrees of injuries and playing well within their limitations. Not that special a match.
Whoβs here after he announces his retirement sad news but a legend in the sport and a true gentleman π’
Me im crying ππππ for their crying πππ.
I amπ’π’π’
Roger is the GOAT in my mind. Itβs not only about the numbers he put up but the class and grace with which he did. His game was pure poetry whilst also being brutal. At times he made some of the all time great players look ordinary
I remember when Federer was young & rude. Back when David Pablo Nalbandian use to kick Federer butt all over the tennis court. Federer would curse at the referee. You must be young. But Fed cleaned up his act & then became a gentleman and The Goat.
@@ZATennisFanhe played with grace and class but his attitude and behaviour often was fairly contrary.
Nowhere near as gracious or classy as either Rafa or Novak in defeat, letβs not kid ourselves
Roger didnβt make a single noise and still won the point.
Cuz he doesnβt use his muscle he uses his whip on his swingsβ¦ takes so much less energy but so much more skillβ¦ thatβs why his shots look so effortless..
@@genesisnkaidence8519I think he just doesnβt want to sound like an idiot when he plays lmao
@@jaradsage8546 no he definitely grunts when heβs exhausted
@@jaradsage8546Iβve heard roger grunt before, he did it a lot at the French open 2019 against Wawrinka, I actually like it
β@@jaradsage8546yes he does it but not just for the sake of it or this much as nadal and other players. Plus federer relies more on his technique and skills vs rafa uses his strength
One of the greatest points ever, goosebumps and nerve wrecking. Forever greatful for these two who made us fall in love with the sport and showed what professional athletes should be like and gave us life long memories.
Two legends battling it out. So sad to see Roger retire.
these 2 need to team up and play doubles for a few years before they finally leave the game. fans would love it and people would get hooked on doubles play because the ratings would demand they show the matches.
I am not sad but know you feel. I liked Pete Sampras and roger Federer was in the same boat. Live up to his idol. Retire when the new stars were ready to take his spot. I rather like that compare to declining with age.
Roger's backhand is just so magnificent to look at. His gaze at the end, oofπ₯π₯
Love them both, what a duo
Wonder how many more majors he'd have if he'd switched to the bigger racket a couple of years earlier
Two great players π
Let's not forget, this was a 36 year old Federer coming back from a 6 month injury lay off and having just won 2 five set matches in the quarters and semis and coming from a break down in the 5th set to beat Nadal. Can't see any other player ever matching that, and also the run he went on after that.
Rafa suffered for two years before this comeback at AO17 .2015,2016 he didn't play due to his wrist injury tell complete information don't hide it
They were BOTH coming from injury. Its impressive for both. Dont be one sided. And im a RF fan too
It was a 35 year old Federer and he had 5 setters in the 4th round and semis. Quarters he beat Mischa Zverev in straights.
Actually Nadal win in 22 over mdev was more impressive
God I miss these days...
I too !!!

my favorite tennis point of all-time.
This symbolic rally came up so much on my feed that now I remember every single move and the strokes that they have used during the rally.
Lol .. same here ... this iconic rally will never get old.
I always loved to watch these two play. They brought out the best in eachother .
Federer made it look easy such a master. Like he defied gravity. Miss him.
I love watching these two play...it's always a show!
Two legends doing what they do best. I've spent many hrs watching these guys. Great players & friends.
The Best point ever. Thank you for this spectacular rally ππππ
One of the best rallies of all time...the winner wasn't even a proper stroke, it was like an outreached slap or something.
Itβs called a half volley and it takes the arguably the most amount of skill out of any shot in tennis.
That's why in some people's opinions Roger will remain the GOAT, I've read a comment that was spot on " he is the only one able to produce shots that are IMPOSSIBLE in tennis" - Ion Θiriac
@@ATELIERDUCORDAGE Roger is my personal favorite and difficult reproduce... perhaps a perfectionist. But have to say Nadal acheived more and is a true gladiator of this sport.
@@saadrathore4408 he is my favourite to and for me he will always be the GOAT. As for Rafa and Nole I have to say only this, if you do not like them, you do not like tennis...is simple as that π

Imagine one person putting the effort like his life is on the line and other is gliding on the court. Tennis is amazing!!
Never give in. Life is a pendulum that swings up and down. There were moments in Roger's career where he felt humiliated by Rafa but look how he came back and has oppressively dominated and suffocated Rafa in the H-H of recent years. Keep improving, stop complaining, and count your blessings.

Brilliance of geniusness
I don't think athletes should be used as a political tool, and Australian Open should support Djokovic. Stop making athletes take the hit for mistakes politics made.
how was Djokovic used as a political tool? He literally flouted the rules when it came to entry into Australia. Sure, the visa shouldn't have been granted in the first place, and the government shouldn't have flipflopped on it. Should've just gotten vaccinated and then he'd have been fine lol
@@_headsheeran that's not the point, people don't respect his decision to not get vaccinated. I agree with safety measures it is a good idea to get vaccinated, but the motives behind Djokovic visa block is more political and, frankly I dont care about the political bs
@@shingo_estaaqui why should Australian Biosecurity laws "respect" someone's choice to not get vaccinated? It's not a political issue, it's a medical and disease management issue. There's a reason those requirements exist. It's not about respect, or for being political.
@@_headsheeran I disagree I think it's political
@@_headsheeran and it's sh*tty he made an effort to fly Aus Open knowing that he might get blocked, so someone should have told him, he was going to get blocked in the first place. Authorities should have been more clear and its just confusion
