    ►Brake Grease: amzn.to/2NU5ayK
    If your steering wheel starts vibrating when you hit the brakes at high speed this video will show you how to fix that problem. Most of the time the vibration in the steering wheel when brake is applied at high speed is caused by either wrapped disc brake rotors or glazed brake pads. The perfect solution will be to install new rotors and new brake pads. However, we had our brake rotors resurfaced and we sanded the top layer on the brake pads.

    Grease is a pads or rotors worse enemy.
    I use it on pins but use anti squeal on heat shield.
    High temps and grease can melt and run reglazing pads and rotors.
    Clean fingers before handling rotors or touching pad faces. I see finger prints on the rotor.

    I am having this problem on my 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. I did not think to sand off the shiny part on the pads when I was looking into the problem last weekend. Thats likely all i need to do, as far as it looks. One think about my set up, it was exactly like yours except there were not any retainer clips. Is it correct that they assist in keeping the pads off the rotors when the brakes are not being applied?

    Dont forget hot spotted rotors. They get a hard spot and the rotors wear but not the hotspot. Nothing can fix this but new rotors. Cutting them will be a temporary fix until the rotors wear a little and you are back to shaking due to the hotspot. I stopped cutting rotors back in the early 90s. Yes, I had 35 years experience as a tech and shop owner.

    • @gfriedman99
      @gfriedman99 년 전

      What cause the hotspot or is this a manufacturing defect? Never heard of this but sounds like my problem that kept coming back.

    • @georgecurtis6463
      @georgecurtis6463 년 전 +7

      @@gfriedman99 most common cause is getting the rotors really hot and then coming to a stop and holding the brakes down for some time. This will harden the spot where the pads are touching the rotors. Most common is when one is riding the brakes coming down a hill or mountain and then coming to a stop and just sitting there. That's one reason that if I suspect my brake system is hot, I will come to a stop and then let the car creep forward. Not allowing the pads sit on the rotors at one spot for any length of time. Also on cars that have been sitting for a long time and get siezed or rusted to the rotors. This will also cause a hard spot after being driven for a bit.

  • @jamesluisitobinoya4856

    I've experienced that trouble it vibrates when you apply the brakes, it's not the rotor, it's not the pad but the guide pin is very dirty that the other brake pad will not move when you release the brake pedal and it is in touch always of the rotor so clean those guide pin and lubricate so that the pads can move freely also clean the pistons of the caliper so.that it will contract back when the brake pedal is release.

      Sometimes its best just to have the rotor turned. Outside of buying super expensive rotors. I have found that a lot of rotors are not as true as they should be and shortly after buying new ones I end up having to get them turned. I have run for years on turned rotors with no problems. I know a lot of people go all ballistic on turning rotors and that your shaving metal off blah blah blah. For everyday driving and braking your never going to run into problems getting them turned. I do recommend though not getting them turn twice as that yeah could become a problem.

      @@AaronEng Old comment! Lol.... Im not sure exactly what helped but I ended up taking my car to the shop and they said I had a lot of issues with my suspension. I needed new axles (ripped boots) and they recommended to replace the shocks too. This was at 120k miles. I also ended up having to replace the tire rods (ripped boot) and control arms due to bad bushings. The issue went away. If replacing the rotors and brakes didn't work for you, have the rest of the suspension components inspected. I guess bad suspension may put extra stress on your brake system and make it wear out unevenly.

      One of the causes is not cleaning any brake pad or rotor surfaces when handled with grease. Another cause is getting oils and greases on the surfaces from outside sources like oil leaks or puddles. Lastly, constant braking like when riding brakes downhill will overheat the surfaces and cause this crystallization as well.

    You forgot to clean the rotors from your handprints/grease/grime. Must clean front and back with brake clean before installing the wheel

    I drive a 15’ Merc C Class W205 and every 3 months I have to have the discs and pads replaced due to juddering under braking. I’ve gone through 5 sets now. I only drive it once a week for less than 50 miles and do no sudden braking. Anyone know what might be causing this?

      hi there - I have a similar problem - did you end up replacing the lower ball joint wishbone control arm ? wondering if that fixed your issue. I'm not sure how to inspect the lower ball joint/wishbone

    Save a little money won't save a life. I don't mind the car can't run but I do mind the car couldn't stop. Rotors and pads are cheap since you work on your car, you already save labor cost. I paid $170 for a set of 4 anti-rusts coated with cooling holes and slots rotors, 2 sensors, and 4 sets of ceramic brake pads for my Mercedes ML320. Use ceramic brake pads for a sure stop and cooler braking.

      Is that true that the ABS is the cause of this problem?

    Should have test the wheel after changed the rotors. Otherwise it is purely a change of rotors. 😂😂

    FYI...Big problem with the lack of cleanliness. You had grease and grime on your hands, which you never cleaned off before you reinstalled the brakes and rotors. The grime from your hands was all over the pads and rotors after you reinstalled them, and at no point did you attempt to clean it off. Not very professional, especially when it comes to working with the brakes on a car.
