If you knew about engines you'd know that a thrown rod doesn't always destroy the engine block. it might cause a little damage like scoring an shit but it won't always go through the block
When you’re trying to save money, buying a block that potentially has scored cylinders or internal damage isn’t the way to go. Hope it works out for him.
@@TheJeracuda if your cylinder walls are scored at all the block is pretty much useless 90% of the time bub... if you knew anything about engines you'd know this.. if an engine actually throws a rod(not just spun a bearing causing your rod to just knock) more times than not the block is usually french toast too.. not always but most of the time the rod takes the block down with it. If.you knew anything about engines you'd know this..
Just use the busted block for mockup and get a 6.0 that's in good shape

For some reason, this reminds me of what I did in a game a while back. I dumped a V8 into a Veyron and put it on off road suspension.
Why I did that, I do not know, but I am looking forward to this build thanks to the sheer novelty and unheard-of-ness of it :)

They're almost the same cost as an actual blown motor
and you can’t use a foam engine to power something fun after :)

Thrown rod doesn't necessarily mean the block is broken.
BETAsin every time I’ve seen a thrown rod it’s gone through the block, and I’ve seen quite a few thrown rods

A Lambo without Lambo noises would get some weird looks at a Lambo meet. When they see the LS he will probably be kicked out. It's blasphemic to replace the nice sounding V10s or V12s with a stoneage US iron engine. Kinda like Chris's idea of putting a 2JZ into an Aston Martin he had some time ago. Some stuff just dosn't belong together. A V12 into a Huracan would have been an interesting built. Even a Ferrari engine would have been a better idea. Kinda funny but still exotic and italian.

Lawrence Powell I get the sense that moving to a larger space will overwhelm the focus Chris has at his current spot. I watched Tavarish go from a focused channel to a mini wreck yard when he got the bigger shop - You can’t scale people like Chris just because the shop is bigger IMO 🤯
@@neilk22 Yeah. More shop floor/working space means more room for projects. Having multiple projects sitting there at once in a workable area can distract you from what you're doing. The mind wonders and then you're like, eh I don't wanna work on this today, I'll work on another one. Then shit just takes forever to get done.

Rope in a cylinder stops the engine turning to allow you to undo the crank bolt, works a treat.
