I hope you have a carb guy that has a lot experience with blow through turbo setups. It takes a lot of modifications to the carb and they are insanely difficult to get working correctly.

Except when you put power steering fluid in it instead of ATF, and it pisses it all over the ground lol
LunarOutlaw’s Garage the power steering pump is Chevy and any old school car with power steering is one finger easy. They bumped the pressure in the power steering way more than they needed to in those cars.

That's my thinking as well. No offense to anybody and i'm not trying to be a jerk but even if the Civic is faster in theory, Freddy probably won't be able to launch it, he will miss gears etc. The Lexus is so much easier to drive.

Looks insane....and i love it lol one spot i saw years ago and like the idea of for a turbo is at the back near where the muffler would be. I like that idea as it will get cold air plus the run back to the engine would in theory cool the air like an intercooler. Not sure if its a great idea in reality because you dont see it ever tho

It has anti lift so when you hit the gas instead of the suspension flexing and raising it actually squats down

my money is the on you Chris. That V8 will do well if you can get traction.
rotate the turbo 90 degrees anticlockwise so you have the compressor outlet pointing straight to the engine and on the left the exhaust and on the right the filter
Love the Lexus respect to the original builder, good to see an old SBC they sound amazing, street racing channel has an insane one 1200+ HP. I honestly think a 75 shot just after launch and the lexus will be so far out the civic wont catch it.
You need to know the compression ratio before adding the turbo, carb motors like higher compression, turbos not so much, go with the NOS if the motor is built for it
And a blow through carb.
Imagine being the guys who built these cars seeing this and getting thrashed for building with a shitty or good car lol I love it guys!!

Ugh I LOVE Lexus SCs!!!!! My grandpa had a 1993 SC400. Bought brand new in 93’ from Lexus of Thousand Oaks and was his one owner baby in Calabasas until 2019. They put 280,000 miles on it and was in flawless condition. Only had driver seat reupholstered. Sold t for $4800 haha!
I feel like “building” this is decreasing your odds. Seems like a well setup car. Should have put the NOS in just in case and for views and run it.
Taverish won’t able to drive that civic to any decent time in 3 passes, even if he sorts it out. How’s that turbo mustang running nowadays?
Alec Barber Yea I agree. That civic might have 600 hp but it’s only going to have it in full boost when he’s already high in the rev range. It’s unlikely he’ll be able to keep it there for the entire race without lots of practice and hit every gear perfect
what i learned for this is these guys have no clue how to build a drag car.
Turbo is beast but with the time frame a 200 shot or more would be a good run! Either way love it, good luck!
Yours is a straight sleeper & pretty crazy its v8 swapped ....but I gotta go with the ek hatch .... Honda’s hold a lot of records.... you can make a lot of power for a little bit of money ...can’t wait to see where this goes 🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻

That rear suspension is a parallel bar 4 link. Its actually better then a ladder bar because of increased adjustability. It also has less "bind" in it due to more joints which lets the suspension move more freely

You should mount the turbo the opposite way with the exhaust housing in the front so the air cools it an the turbo doesn't suck in a bird. It might also be a little easier to get the cold side to the intake.

When you said it had a ladder bar rear suspension I thought okay pretty cool. Not bad. But I can actually see it has a adjustable 4 Link. Hell, yeah!! 4 Link is the way to go. With a few adjustments You can make that rear suspension Force the tires on to the pavement. Or make the car Squat and transfer its weight to the rear tires.
Weight reduction.
Start stripping it.
Door panels, speakers, dash, seats, spare tire, carpet, etc.
It will never weigh less than the civic. Stripping it would be a salty move.
Whatever it takes to keep the car plus the civic is already stripped so technically it would be leveling the playing fields...

Hey Chris, @bisforbuild why not just supercharge the small block, was it down to cost etc?
not a ladder bar system its a four link, does the same thing just harder to get setup as theres alot more adjusts you need to make, also get a competition engineering or other anti roll bar will help a crap ton with flexing when launching and a very easy install

That Hurst shifter in the Lexus would probably feel a lot better if you rotated it 90 degrees so you have better control of it when you are putting it in gear or hitting the line lock switch.
