dry battery, light, autonomy, power, rapide charge
I think it's 20% more capacity per kilo, therefore more autonomy and more "for less space" !

Great video! I am glad you're being skeptical if everything. Battery tech is what's holding a lot of electronics back.
One thing I want to point out is that charge time isn't as big a deal as most people think.
Gas cars have a fixed refuel time. No matter what you need to refuel for about 5 minutes every few hundred miles. With electric this isn't the case. While on long trips you will need to stop and wait to charge, on your daily drive you will never need to stop to "refuel". The refueling is done while the car is sitting at your home or at your work. So overall you spend much less time "refueling" your electric car over your gas one.

I am glad you are excited about this new idea, and I am glad you can see the world that could be with this, but I think a little temperance on your expectations might be due. I work in the energy industry and have been closely studying the business of energy for a number of years now. I live in Arizona and our state has a big interest in energy storage due to our wonderfully intelligent neighbors to the west producing way too much power during the day, paying us to take it off their hands and then buying our power when they don't have enough. The utility I work for is actually an early adopter of utility scale batteries, which we have unfortunately had issues with (that pesky thermal runaway you mentioned) and some firefighters were seriously hurt. Our company has not abandoned the idea of batteries, and we are seriously looking at what went wrong and what could be better. Listening to our executives discuss bateries, however I get the distinct impression that battery storage will never be a significant part of our business plan. Lithium ion is not the only problem either. The amount of space required for storage is a big issue. Even with a battery that is many times as energy dense, it will take a ton of space to store power reserves. Over the many conversations I have been a part of discussing the company's strategy for the future, solid state batteries have not even been mentioned. That makes me wonder how far along the technology actually is and how close to implementation at scale it actually is. I am not sure what the difference in space required to safely store hydrogen compared to a solid state battery, but that is the direction our company seems to be going. We will be working with the Department of Energy on a hydrogen generation and storage project at our nuclear site and we also are makimg plans to work with a company to expand hydrogen fueling infrastructure in our area to assist with the use of hydrogen fuel cell trucks for interstate freight transport.
If I were to bet, I would bet on hydrogen. It makes sense from a weight standpoint. We can use natural gas pipelines to transport it. We can make it from natural gas or water. Many gas plants and natural gas burning equipment/appliances could burn hydrogen instead with little to no modification required. It also can be used as a fuel for industrial purposes requiring extremely high temperatures. It makes sense from an environmental standpoint and there are already some pretty big players investing heavily in it. I would bet on Toyota long before Tesla. Tesla is not exactly known for delivering on promises ($35k Model 3? Okay technically they hit that mark just long enough to say they did, but they took a loss because they can not deliver that product). Musk is far from a genius. He is a visionary egomaniac with a lot of smart people around him who has done some great things, but also promised a bunch of stuff he can not deliver on. He also can not admit when he is wrong. He is basically South African Donald Trump.
Also, "experts are saying" is not a great thing to go off of on the cutting edge of tech. I wish it were but it is not. You know this being a computer guy. Experts have been saying commercial fusion is just around the corner for many corners now. I think MIT was saying they would have a commercially viable product in 5 years. While I hope to hell it is true and there have been a bunch of significant advancements recently, I wouldn't bet on it.
Also also, I am not sure about your market analysis. People are buying big vehicles now. SUVs are killing sedans. That's why Ford stopped making sedans. Trucks can sell for 70k+ because everybody wants them and loads of people are buying them. Thats why Jalopnik writes articles about hero rocks taking out SUVs that everybody is driving even though Jalopnik thinks they have no business driving them. Gas engines, gas costs and gas emissions are not holding back large vehicles right now.
Sorry if I am shitting all over the rug on this. I like that you are excited about this and I hope we do get better batteries than lithium ion. I also hope you take whatever inspiration out of this you might have found and run with it. I would love seeing an electric build even if it does use lithium ion batteries. It is something I am curious about but not ready to do myself just yet. I do enjoy your builds as well. I just think you might be more excited about this right now and your expectations are a little higher than realistic.

After working on the water for the last year plus, having everything you can to keep you as safe and aware of your surroundings is essential. Also you could replace that whole helm station with a engine monitoring system and a garmin display unit and it would look much cleaner

I have been in the automotive industry since you have probably been in diapers. Having said that I have had a successful career in it because of being able to be ahead of the trend. In 2017 when I first read this I had made this very same prediction. I had told the company I was working for it's time to start shifting gears. They didn't listen to me and I left. 2 years later the company that did listen is ahead of the game and my old company is playing catchup. You are on point with your thoughts. Keep passing the word along.
