@@Janulo8524 Also you wouldn't dice a pedestrian if you hit one. I'm pretty sure whatever Oregon exemption law there is on racecars, every car on the road should comply with some basic safety requiremnts. And that would include having your engine covered!?

I'd love to see a statistical breakdown of the car. Take it to the dyno, get hp and torque. Take it to a track and get 0-60 times. Weigh it, etc. I'm also super curious about how the performance stacks up against a regular M5. It'll be especially interesting because the weight difference, but also weight distribution. I've loved following this build but I want so much more info on the finished car because it's so unique.

If it had a hood it would be m favorite build EVER! You cant ignore the hood line on the Z. Its one of the best parts.

You should consider installing back the weather strips to the doors and trunk to eliminate the smoke + to stop the water dripping on the messy wiring from the back.

He has the rest of the interior and I'm pretty sure that is worth a lot.

This is the first video I have watched on your channel and I can already appreciate that you ACTUALLY share how much car building shenanigans cost. not a lot of channels like to share that because they are afraid of losing people because of the money they would lose along with it. Kudos to you.

What’s the breakdown on this “no registration, registration” law/loophole? I’m an Oregon resident.
Really late reply but googling leads me to assume he is referring to either
ORS 803.305 (4) "A vehicle is exempt from registration if it is not operated on the highways of this state.
" or
ORS 803.305 (25) "A racing activity vehicle that is being operated for the purposes of a test drive within a 30-mile radius of the location where the vehicle is manufactured is exempt from registration."
He’s not a registered or recognized manufacturer, neither of those statutes would fly. That car needs a license plate which costs ~$50 per year here in OR.

You can get a ball park figure from adding up the views against an average cpm
I haven't done the maths but I'm sure this is probably the most successful build on the show to date in terms of return on investment
I just did the maths Chris has made 96 videos on the 240 each one ranging from 100k views to 500k views at a cpm of 2 USD that's somewhere between 48K USD and 96k USD
But I between the 240 videos we got the gambler videos and some others and most of them received over 200k views so I'd say he's probably good but just
@@badspecgamer128 didn't you forget the sponsors on almost all videos? They pay big money for these 2-4 min ads, would guess between 2 and 5k per video. Yeah that would make it a bit more profitable i think
@@TerrificFlow most definitely but I was just doing some quick back of the envelope maths if I was at my computer I'd have written a quick program using the KRplus api to get close to exact numbers because when you do a product placement you have to disclose that in your upload manager and that data is available through the api

what would the custom taillights have cost?
Brian k all the parts came from Adafruit probably less than $100 is parts plus the tint. Main expense of the taillights is labor if you pay someone to make them.
Custom built tail lights like that cost from $500 to $1500

Can someone provide a reference for the "no registration registration law"?
I know its a little late of a reply, but i did some digging and this is what i found. Section 25 of ORS 803.305 "A racing activity vehicle that is being operated for the purposes of a test drive within a 30-mile radius of the location where the vehicle is manufactured is exempt from registration."

Lol By the time my car was at the stage of being a bare shell I already had spent 7k on it. It left me wondering, 1) How the fuck did I spend so much and have so little to show for it. 2) How the fuck did my 1k budget manage to turn into a 12k budget.

This entire build is so impressive. You should open your own custom shop and take on projects for customers. Kind of like west coast customs but make tasteful projects! I saw this at SEMa and I was blown away. Also ran into Rob Dam and his Gf and EddieX too lol

You'd be surprised. I parked in a Lowes lot after they closed under the lights just to get a few shots of a car with a new fiberglass lip and the cops were there before I even had the tri-pod up. Zero noise, zero speeding, zero anything illegal.
@@kj_ptr4032 Doubt it would happen today but I was doing skids in an empty parking lot (lose control, recover, lose control, recover) and someone called the cops. They closed off the lot and let me practice for another 30 min and told me to go home. Sometimes cops can be awesome. If your watching thanks guys.

That Rocket Bunny kit insanely overpriced. You could have an engineer make you a design in CAD, print foam molds and have a carbon fiber shop make them for you for far less than $4100. JESUS
No you couldn't . And all that time wasted messing around with things could be used on the build when your time is worth more spend on other things 4100 a legit kit isn't much as compared to the headaches you're going to have and money Time and labor wasted with the replica or something you tried doing yourself..

How much do you guys think carbon fiber costs? Its actually insanely easy to do if you've done it a few times.
Its very similar to fiber glass, actually nearly identical, even in cost.
But even still, we are talking molded plastic. There's probably not more then $20 in plastic. At $4k a kit, they probably turned a profit on the cost set sold and all the rest is just money in the bank.
A custom polyurethane body kit costs less then $1k new, and its much more expensive material wise and much harder to work with and build.
I have no idea why anyone would buy rocket bunny, other then bragging rights.

I wish I had kept better track of what I actually spent building my CRX. I did everything myself with the exception of paying a buddy $100 for his time to help me on paint day, and the alignment I got afterwards. Will have a little sneak peak of my CRX on my new channel soon! Mine isn't nearly as much as yours, but mine is also pretty mild compared to this beast. Well done sir!
