Last Build Day On The 240z! Getting Ready For The Road!

I feel like this will always look unfinished without a hood.

This build is gonna have so much history behind it years from now. Should always keep it! Never get rid of it

Screw stickers on the dash plates, have everyone who worked on the build sign the sides.

Great job Chris! The last couple % of a build are always the hardest to finish whether it's wanting to drive the project or getting sick of working on it, but you were able to power through.

That badge is pretty cool.

The bleeding procedure as well as brake pads/disc change all is done with obd now in audi, vw, bmw etc... and more stuff as well, programming or changing characteristic of different modules. As well I would say to use some plastic pushpins instead of rivets/screws, as they hide and are more pleasant to eye as well instead of using normal wrap, you can use leather or fake leather as won't be much more expensive but will look A LOT better.

Some simple vinyl fabric over the dash caps and door cards would go a long way for that interior. all the same impressive work

This is also by far my favorite build on the channel so far, you've done amazing work on all of your cars, but this by far takes the cake for me. It's also given me some inspiration on the route i'd like to go with my 1980 SA22C RX-7 which is to do a an IRS swap using an RX-8 (or NC MX-5) rear end and 6 speed manual RX-8 trans. It would be a very involved build that I know I wont be able to do myself, but the swap has been done before so I at least have something referance and I do have some very capable friends nearby to help with fabrication and welding. My goal for this is to make the car essentially like a mini 2,300 lbs RX-8 with the exception of the engine which is an old school 70's cosmo 13B with complete modified RX-8 rotating assembly which should make for a super fun daily. I will document all of this on my youtube channel and, like yourself, I hope to have my video editing and content creating skills improve as yours have since starting out with the BRZs. So keep up the badass work and inspiring people to do cool shit with their cars.

Hey chris you should build the end plates and carpet trim pieces out of raw carbon! It would tie in great with the interior and the all the different carbon accents like the taillights!

I have a suggestion for the future project, a widebody gt86 with a HEMI engine in it.

You should make the end plates for the dash out of carbon fiber and make the door sills out of carbon fiber too.

You should build some ducting for the coolers , the Air will go more around the coolers then through them.

and add some red in the engine bay to give it an aggressive look though that glass ..
like red wires instead of the black ones ..

We had to do the same thing to a Chevy truck that we replaced the brake lines on except we couldn’t do the ABS bleed procedure because it won’t let you do it while any other codes are active so that sucked. It was like a super insignificant code that was stopping us but wasn’t worth fixing fortunately the vacuum bleeding thing we had worked.

Chris, while I love the look of the open velocity stacks, running without an air cleaner is a short cut to a re-bore. Perhaps you could think up a polycarbonate plenum box and have the best of both worlds?

Side dash plates need the same carbon wrap that the steering wheel and the dash panes have. Would look great.

a cool idea if you would like to have you engine visable is to make one out of see-through plastic or plexiglass so that it protects the engine bay while and still being visable :)
