As an old dude, I restored and built over 100 cars in my day. These modern cars have never been on my radar and seeing this build so far, will never do.

You should watch Chris build the Datson 240. You'll understand his tenacity once you've seen how he transfers an entire BMW wiring harness, engine, suspension, and transmission into the shell of an old Datson. And im not talking half assed Frankenstein job. He took the car to Sema.
His game plan for doing that build (3d model and stuff) was what got me started on this channel, it was the first thing I saw, and I realized I stumbled upon a mad man.
I helped my buddy restore a 280zx and put a turbo on it. He sold the damn thing. Im a ford guy and that made me sick lol.

those parking sensor are the same as an audi a6 from like 2005 and you could grab those at a junk yard or spare parts store or something for like 100 bucks

Also, right now youโre building a Lambo in an unfinished garage. Love the pride you take in your cars, and it would be cool to see you take some time and slowly, step by step, see your garage make a transformation like your projects do! Long time subscriber! A typical pack of those bolts can be heavy. So yeah... weight reduction for a (more than)thousand pounds of Italian bulk weight
Congrats on getting those roll bars out, Iโve had to repair them before on a convertible Nissan Murano and it was a pain in the ass even with the service info readily available. The soft top may still not work after you program the window because the air bag system thinks there is a problem with those roll bars even though they arenโt in the car. Since the connectors are not connected, itโs an open circuit and the air bag module will think thereโs an issue.
You can't reset it?
Eric Knabenshue some cars wonโt let you operate the soft top at all because the airbag system doesnโt know what position the roll bars are in if they are not connected.

you can get an old urethane bumper and cut out a piece of it and melt it with acetone, then use it as a plastic epoxy.
worth a shot the procedure for resetting windows and sunroofs on audis: hold the button for it to open until it opens and closes on it's own. i believe there is a button for the rear window in the middle console

Might be a combo of the door not closing the door switch. Work at a Mazda dealership and the mx5 won't operate with the doors open
@Saxamusprime that was just by hand, i think its possible that its mad about the door, or much more, i have a good quality scanner coming in that should help alot, a good solid reset works magic. I jumped in it yesterday and hit a button on the window and it moved for the first time, nothing changed except shutting the car off for a night..
Slide a coat hanger down the tube on the outside of both towers at the same time. You can giggle around and find the release trigger for those vertical crash bars. Works every time.

Because it pretty much is, VAG owns Lamborghini and so they share a parts bin, pretty sure Tavarish mentioned it was the same one on one of his videos but don't quote me on that, either way it probably is the same part SKU.
You do know there is a small difference between a Coupe door (the one you have) and the Spyder door? There is a small, additional triangular piece at the top of the door where it meets the convertible top cover.
Loving these build vids... Lots of info and passion in the rebuilds.

Nathan Mayers this is exactly why people with money stay having money. Why spend 500 when a little extra effort you can save that 500. He already spent $15k which is why you save where you can when youโre doing a rebuild, why waste 500 you donโt need too
He still would have had to get the old ones out so why not get them fixed instead of buying new ones.
@@diddy2612 Waste 500 on safety items he just damaged by cutting into them? The labor in figuring out how to reuse them was $500 alone. Plus the cost of having them rebuilt after too.

I work as a car mechanic in a VAG Dealership in Germany. Everytime a car with a soft top comes in for inspection we have to test these bolts. We use the OBD to connect Odis and blow them up. You just have to push them down in a VW or Audi. Greez from Bavaria

The R8 spyder uses the same roll over rams, we have the hook you mention at work to put them back down but it takes alot of force to both get it unlocked and back down

Loved the day you shot rockets through the garage door. I am amazed at all the negative posts you recieve. I went back and watched all your video's, from your beginning. You have come a long way! I hope we get to see how you are doing with your yacht this summer!
Lord Fusor 142 works great to repair those cracked panels.
When repaintaing the sensors be carefull with how many layers of paint you spray on them!!

No one will sew that seat. It is illegal for an upholstery shop to do it without the correct tearaway thread. There is a sticker in the seat (all VAG) that says the same.

Poly Vance makes a great kit so you can repair that.. cheap as well I used to to repair plastic bumpers and such and it works amazing

If the seat is sown back by someone who knows what he/she is doing it should be perfectly fine. Those rollover bars I would have spent that 1K on for sure. Time to get them out + cost of repair could be costlier than have them replaced and I wouldn't mess with these safety elements.

I am all too familiar with the triple square. Basically if you took 3 squares and put them together, you get the 12 point pattern. Had to change a wheel bearing on my Audi S4 a few years back. I think I bought the same set. Have never used them since lol.

Yea when you look at the price of used Lamborghini parts it is crazy! Something that you can get for a normal car aftermarket for like $20-50 might be $1000 or more on these used.

For resetting the window position sensor I'd look closely at what Ross-tech has. Their VCDS (aka VAG COM) for VW/AUDI is unmatched, like better than OEM software diagnostic tools. I'm sure they got stuff for Lambo as well.

You could try to find an Interieur shop that restiches your new door panel. You could check out a shop here in germany they do a great job. Not sure about their name tho atm

Call the 3M rep they can get you in touch with the specialists that will tell you the best epoxy to use. At SEMA there have been guys the last few years that sell a tool for repairing urethane bumpers with this metal iron looking thing and it puts out argon or some other inert gas because oxygen does something bad to melted urethane.
